Pistol usage

Ahah! YOu admit that the Ark only remains functional because the Guests are forced to due all of the dangerous yet vital maintance jobs! The Guests are being used as slave labor because the Founders are too busy sitting around putting on water weight from all their unlimited water rations! Stop being puppet protectors of SLAVERS! besides, the Resistance has cookies! :cookie:

Yes, I admit they need to work to keep the place up and running BECUASE THEY GOT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE

The parasites just want and want, but no - they have to work to get what they want, and in that work they will help so many

If they leave now, the Ark will go to hell, becuase they got there in the first place

And it is not known if they have that much water, but they do give out a little extra to the ones who work to ensure the safety of everyone

EDIT: Also, we have.. Founders.. Yeah

I'd have a Rhett primary and a Tampa with a sling for backup

Yes, but not on all of them, probably on at least one heavy as well.

I like pistols, always have, and almost prefer to use them over most weapons.

This. I dont know why but I love pistols compared to assault rifles and the like.

I love pistols they have been my weapon of choice in a lot of games, something just feels right about being able to take down an opponent that should easily be able to kill you with an automatic weapon only to be laid out by a pea shooter. I hope i will be able to use it as my main killing gun if i would like i hate when games make it so its just a kind of oh crap im out of ammo let me switch to my pistol weapon.

I will use pistols as a backup only. Who says I need to use them all the time? Their primary use is a backup weapon when reloading is a problem, or when out of clips (which will become quite a problem in brink unless backed up by a solider). It has the quickest switch speed then any other subcategory gun and it can close the gap of damage that you need done.

Plus I would figure pistols grand you a maximum maneuverable speed which is fantastic for people who need to finish side missions. Not only just for killing.
If the Sea Eagle pistol is like anything from it's real companion of the Desert Eagle, then I wouldn't mind packing that as it's output can rival some powerful guns above pistols and grant me a movement speed that I would like to get the job done.

I'm going to neglect to vote and just wait for the game to test out both SMGs and Pistols. Though I'd like to be linked proof that one may equip a pistol in both their primary and secondary slots, I'll just take their word for it.

Other than that, I speculate that pistols will actually:

> deal more damage on average than an SMG on a per round basis (probably even rivaling AR damage, possibly even superior with revolvers)
> will have inferior firing rates (with the exception of machine pistols)
> small magazines (even for machine pistols)
> but probably on a spare ammo basis, pistols may just have more spare magazines/reloads than any other weapon.
> If there are movement speed restrictions based on weapon, the pistol would have none.
> Probably slick, fast reloads too, save for maybe the revolver.

I don't expect a pistol to outrank an Assault Rifle, and to probably be just under par with the average SMG, or if as stated that they can be equipped in the primary slot, then pistols may be the equal alternative to the SMG.

Either way, I plan to experiment until I find which one I'm most comfortable with. I'm a finesse kind of guy, so I tend to go with what will kill the other guy most efficiently. However, I am going soldier. so I can afford to full auto entire magazines away :tops: :gun:

Finally, and thanks. Though... that is one badly worded answer.

" Your primary weapon will have to be 'downgraded' to match the class of your secondary, though."

Would have looked better like this:

" Your primary weapon will have to be 'downgraded' to match the available classes for your secondary, though."

I can click pretty fast, so switching to a pistol to finish someone off will definitely be a strategy used by me. I never reload during a firefight

If you have a pistol you have the sheer force of a grenade launcher, the accuracy of a sniper rifle, the speed of a machine gun divided by two. Take those and add them with the easy concealment, mobility, and all around easy to use pistol, and you have yourself the most popular weapon in the history of mankind.
Pistols. All you need.

Except, last I heard, semi-auto's had a hard-lock on just how fast they can be fired, no matter how quick your trigger finger is. That's where the weapon firing speed attachment comes in. That reason is also why it's probably justifiable that pistols could potentially hit just as hard as an AR or even harder on a per-round basis, except maybe the machine pistols.

Seriously, I mean I'm not saying the pistol is the best weapon to have. But it is definitely the most efficient if you're going for a subtle approach at whatever you're doing. Zombie invasion? Suppressor on your pistol. Pistols are just really great weapons all around 'cause of the ease of use.

Pistols wont normally hit as hard as AR's, even smaller ammunition such as the SIG 550 has larger ammo that can be fired farther.
The reason for this is because pistol ammo is stored in the handle, so the ammo has to be fairly small.
Revolvers on the other hand can hold some very large bullets, and are not to be underestimated with (mind you, considering how light they are compared to AR's they tend to have plenty of kick).

Pistol rounds tend to be larger than rifle rounds, but have less gunpowder. That is why pistols and shotguns excel at close range. Big Bullet, But not very much fuel

Euhm no.

The most common pistol round is 9x19 mm, the most common rifle rounds are 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 mm.
Unless you specifically mean diameter, rifle rounds are a lot larger.

Pistols excel at close range because of their small size increasing mobility and making them less unwieldy. (same reason for carbine versions of rifles)
Shotguns excel because of sheer stopping power (and in reality are also pretty good in medium ranges, especially with slugs)

A heads-up to those who don't know: pistols can equip COGA scopes. Saw a player equip one on a Kalt pistol on a leaked footage video. Not 100% sure about MPs or Revolvers, but it's likely.

With that in mind, if I ever play light I may just go nuts with a pistol. They're always fun, and a sight/scope makes them practical beyond CQC unlike other games.

If you're Heavy, yes.
