Too much scripting/programming involved for not enough payoff.

Not a very effective way to fight anyway.

Imagine two Sequoias with Cowboy or two Pew Pews with Laser Commander. :-) Even Gauss would be in awe of the damage output on those.

I'd love to have a dual-wielding perk, but then I've probably seen too many John Woo films.

Its a VIDEO GAME for crying out loud. if I wanted realism, I'd own a gun. I don't like guns, so I'm willing to suspend my belief long enough to shoot two at the same time at a pack of fiends.

Exactly, f**k realism. If you didn't want the perk, then why the hell would you bother getting it?

Support, I'd love to run around with two .44s killing everyone xD.

I would totally love a mod that put this in.

Offset it a bit with increased spread though, so its not like a straight doubling of your damage :)

There isn't. Because it's impossible to have two ProjectileNodes in one mesh. It can't be done.

You can't balance out duel wielding correctly in a video game, as your essentially doubling the rate of fire.

Here's how they could do it, the aiming reticle is remove while duel wielding, in addition instead of the bullets path being calculated from the center of the screen[as if the aiming reticle was still there] Its tracked from your sides where the guns actually are. As the guns aren't centered and there is no computer asset. Aiming would be near impossible beyond close range.

If they did this, no fooling, I would probably not buy the game.

One thing I've always liked about the series is they treated guns with some degree of realism. If I want john woo wankery I'll go play a game built for it.

Or maybe they could simply halve your weapon skill while duel wielding.

Show me one educated firearms owner that supports dual wielding and I'll support it. I've shot two guns at a time and the result is being retardedly inaccurate and wasting too much ammo.

You forgot the total inability to reload, and the fact many of the guns in the FO series would break your nose if you tried to fire them one-handed.

The .22, 9mm, 357, .44 mag and 10mm can be fired pretty easily with one hand but forget about basically all of the others. As you said reloading becomes more or less impossible when both hands are occupied by a gun and in the end, while dual wielding may look cool on tv, its not particularly effective at all.

People have been carrying multiple handguns ever since the things were invented... of course that means they shoot one until it runs dry and then pull out the next, but still...

What if they put it into the game but implemented it realistically?

If they did that, the people who cried for it to be put in would be furious because 'OMG I CAN'T SUPER AKIMBO LIKE CALL O DUTY'.

This is true and its not the same as dual wielding. I carry two pistols all the time, thats not difficult at all. Taking both of them out at the same time and actually hitting a target is a totally different story.

You know, If they "Implement Akimbo Realisticly" then your hands possibly break if you used a Magnum, You would'nt hit that one fat guy thats standing fifteen-feet away from you, And you would'nt be able to reload. Ever.
