Pixelated Textures ! Possible FIX .

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 7:06 pm

Hey Guys

After patch 1.9 i get lower overall performance in DX 9 mod and these wierd pixelated textures. Also to mention my autoexec doesnt load in game anymore i have to put the command in manualy between games. That is my autoexec is in the game file system file and an autoexec file jsut to make sure.

The performance decrease is only due to patch 1.9 before my crysis was runnign at 40 - 80 fps now im down to 20-40 fps with wierd textures. In dX 11 mod i get 20 - 40 fps as well and no blocky textures. But for MP it just doesnt cut it .

Specs: i3 2.13ghz, HD 5650 1GB DDR3, 8GM CL9 1333, win7 x64

Here is a quick video of the BUG :

Here is a quick video on how to get rid of it :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vGD-zSyE9I

Fix: in console r_TexMaxAnisotropy = 2 , only gets rid of pixels not necessarily increase performance .

I don't see the video, but i think i know what you are talking about. Some textures look like minecraft textures (some parts of terrain, walls, gates).
I didn't notice this in 1.8, maybe it was there, maybe not, but i see it now.

i have some pixeled textures aswell in MP

in skyline, wall streed, and eveac zone so far, from a bigger distance some walls/objects were just a few HUGE pixels, i thought one of my 5970s broke but after testing them, they work flawless

EDIT: ok its not as bad as for you ^nox :P

There is already a thread about DX11 and how they have failed it. I don't know if my problem is as bad as yours, because i didnt anolyze it. I just saw it at random moments im MP, and i was running for cover so i didnt look. But still i have noticed quite alot of those textures.

I would downgrade to 1.8, but there are no servers anymore in MP with 1.8 :(
Don't understand why can't crytek release a fast 1.9.1 with 1.8 textures back (HIGH from 1.9 is not the HIGH from 1.8, its like very high but messed up).

Yes it seems like it they tempered with the core engine and changed it and now those who had good performance at the release day got screwed. Even though dx11 looks great it just isn't mp friendly on my end so I want my old dx 9 back for the sake of fluency . Let's keep bumping bumping this until fix is found ! Thanks for input so far !

I don't care those insane texture things, i need to play, this 1.9 patch higher the graphic settings made my fps drop to the a level multiplayers unplayable and when i load the game already past 2 minutes . i've bought DLC a week ago then Crytek release something worse.

thnx ^nox.

but still patch 1.9 is a game killer for me i cant play coz the game doesnt run and look like in patch 1.8 which was perfect imo.
and as for Crytek i dont think they will release another patch soon coz they need as much bugs as possible to start fixing it and put them in a new patch as a whole, so am done for this game for now or maybe for ever if they didnt bring back the old game performance on low end PCs because i dont feel like upgrading a full PC for a game like this.

yeah thx ^nox. works for me but the textures are still looking a lil bit crappy and performance is still messed up . Could crytek tell us why the community has to solve such issues on our own? Are we low-end/not owning dx11, but dx10 card people not worth it? I think it would be way better when you would, first of all, take care of problems, which are making the game unplayable for many people, befor you release sandbox or something like that.

Thnx nox i will try this and see if it works,by the way im not using the DX11 nor the High Resolution Textures, this is a patch problem and it svcks.

EDIT: It says unknown command for me,but it worked in autoexec so THNX NOX! it looks like before :)

I have tried the "TexMaxAnisotropy" command several times with a bunch of different values from 1-16 with no results. I have tried entering it in the console, which requires a level re-load, AND i have tried entering it in my system.cfg (not autoexec) to no avail.

Does anyone else have these errors? They are obviously all texture related...

And, of course, still no answer from Crytek. Fail.

I did it in my autoexec because in the game console didnt worked for me,but in autoexec worked.

Ok. Did you put "TextureMaxAnisotropy" or "TexMaxAnisotropy"?

Update: I have tried both listed above in my autoexec and my system CFG files. Still does not work. Horribly pixelated textures that are extremely blurry and look like **** minecraft quality. Crytek, you have really **** up with this patch. If you don't address this issue and find a solution, you have lost a customer.

you have to put the anisotropy command in an autoexec.cfg file to work. and to fix the slowdowns try this r_ssao = 4 it seemed to work for me anyways, plus the darkness is also gone, plays just like 1.8 again for me.
