A place where the Enclave retreat to.

Post » Sat Sep 05, 2009 7:54 am

I'm working on a fanfic/rp and I need to know where the Enclave retreat to after they've completed a mission or gotten their asses kicked by the player...

Some sort of shelter in a pre war military base... Or some other fortress/easily fortafiable location...

With their military mind, any place they'd run to would have amazing defenses.

Try looking at real-world US military locations, preferably ones built into mountains or are otherwise hard to break into (i.e. more secure than a simple electrified chain-link fence.) Or an old "failed" Vault (one where the experement ran it's course.) Granted, there's no precident for it, but it's entirely possible, since they *should* know where all Vaults are located.

They could have retreated down south? Not the most preferred place to have a base really, but the hills are a good place for them?

Just for the hell of it....The remains of the US Government, take out the small and undermanned garrison of Royal Marines defending the Falkland Islands. Port Stanley, is renamed New Washington, and the Stars and Stripes are raised all across the islands.

Well if they ever make a Fallout game based around New Orleans () then I'm sure that there will be some remnants around there. Might be cool to have either the BOS or Enclave around New Orleans. The Southern United States, is always left out of the fun. :( :P

Ah... the joy's of living in Maryland. Everyone in the south calls you "northerner" and everyone north of you calls you "southerner." They don't do that with Virginians or Pennsylvanians!

According to a computer in the Gecko power plant in Fallout 2, Posiedonet (the Enclave's intranet) was connected to a number of places and groups including http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?act=findpost&pid=0. Their facilities in an old limestone mine in Boyers, Pennsylvania would be ideal for an Enclave retreat.

Cheyenne Mountain is home to Vault 0, and depending on the what you consider the "correct" ending of Fallout tactics to be is either a MW BOS stronghold, or the home to a rather powerful AI allied with the same.

Yes, but isn't the cannon-icity of Fallout Tactics suspect? And so, if it is, then we really don't know what Cheyenne Mountain ended up being.

The major events are considered by Bethesda to have happened, even if some of the detail was off. I think its difficult to seperate cheyenne mountain from Vault 0, given the vast size that Vault 0 was supposed to be and the infrastructure in place in Cheyenne mountain to support it. (that is not to say its impossible however)

i would think a place like cheyenne mountain..

then again, it wasnt propsed until 1956 in our universe and the FO timeline splits in 1942, so it wouldnt necessarily exist

That's where Vault 0 was located, and it was nuked. In VB it was supposed to be nothing but a big radioactive crater, kinda like the Glow.

Also, the timeline doesn't split in 42, but in the mid 50's.

Divergance: go to the second timeline entry.

any rate, ii was wrong about it being possible for enclave use. it appears that cheyanne mountain was built in the FO universe and Vault 0 as an eddition to it and was a cryogenics storage for "great thinkers" if you want to consider that portion of FOT cannon...

Well, if I were daft enough to bring back the Enclave for another game, then I'd put them in a secret base in Mount Rushmore.

NORAD is gone, since in Fallout 2, when you find the station list(the Computer in Gecko), you'll notice that the station is offline. NORAD was historically a primary target for the USSR(and the same logic would apply for the PRC in the Fallout Universe).

Well if the Enclave retreated, they would have a near infinite number of places to go. Countless government facilities are left abandoned across the continent. And as far as I can tell, most government facilities stay out of the hands of wasteland factions.(With a few major exceptions of course)

However, after Broken Steel, the Enclave would have suffered three major defeats. The Oil Rig, Raven Rock, and Adams Air Force Base. Considering that they started with about 10,000 in Fallout 2, after all those disasters they must be down to 100-200 people. No civilians, just a bunch of tired and worn out soldiers and scientists. Their main priority would be to start making a lot of babies. Since they're so obsessed with purity.

If they make any kind of apperance in any future game, it would have to be almost 100 years later. That, or have them play a much smaller role, like the Super Mutants did in FO2.

Wow...I just noticed how much longer this is than the others...Damn my rambling!!! :banghead:

NORAD is the name of the US-Canadian joint nuclear attack detection/defense network, it's not a place.

If I am not mistaken, arent they located in Cheyenne Mountain?
