Places to squat?

Post » Thu Oct 21, 2010 9:05 pm

See, my character's name is Elinroth and he was arrested for brutally stabbing a guard outside of Bruma. When they put him in jail, his cell mate started making racist comments about Elinroth being a Wood Elf. A fight broke out and the guards unlocked the gate to break up the fight, but since Elinroth is so nimble and quick, he ran past the guards took all of his things out of the evidence chest.

Now he's on the run with lots of combersome weight slowing him down. He's looking for a place to squat and drop off some of this weight without the precious items being stolen.

please help :obliviongate:

Abandoned Shack in the IC doesn't have any respawning chests iirc. Dungeons that have bedrolls (Bandit/Conjurer/Necromancer/Marauder holes) usually have open topped grain sacks (which are safe) so there's good as well (just make sure you clear out the dungeon first )

How about Aleswell if you do a small quest then you get lodgings for free and some where to stash your loot.

I actually ended up finding my own place! It's called "Hidden Camp"

Its far west of Bruma and it's nestled in the mountain side. There's a sack with no respawning items and two beds. When I approached one Redguard weilding a steel war hammer was standing beside a fire. I quickly assessed the situation and came to the realization that this man was probably hostile. I then proceeded to shoot him in the throat with an arrow.

I slept in the tent that I had just earned and recieved two levels. When I awoke, I gambled all of my belongings into a sack and headed south again. I was travelling to the Imperial City, only I didn't know why. There was some type of greater force reeling me into the magnificent city that I saw from oh so very far away.

When I reached the city, It was late at night. I spoke with Shady Sam and sold him some of the potions I had created, then realized I was directly in front of the stable. I stole a Chestnut Horse right in front of the guard's face and rode it north-west back to the Hidden Camp. When I arrived, two days after my departure, the contents of the sack remained.

Confirmed squatting location: Hidden Camp
Location: West of Bruma, deep in the mountains .... ( a few miles outside skyrim )

Thanks for the suggestions though, I appreciate all the help

You might also like Walker Camp (NE of Cheydinahl). It has two tents, one of them is a walk in type. Two bedrolls you can use and a safe grain sack for storage. Best of all, it has two non-hostile NPCs that will guard the place for you when you are not there.

Although I will add that you might want to keep your weapon sheathed or else they'll become hostile.

I don't recall having this problem before in quite a few visits to Walker Camp. I'm pretty sure some of those visits were with a weapon drawn, but can't be positive. So, Buffy just went up there.

She is currently standing in Walker Camp chatting with both thugs with her bow drawn. No problem. Now, she is a pretty likable sort, so it may have something to do with disposition. Her personality is 100 and both thugs have a dispositon toward her between 90 and 100. She has fairly high fame and very low infamy. Dunno if those considerations may factor into things. :foodndrink:

I would suggest the ruin in Pale Pass, they′d never think of looking for you there plus you′d have many ogres serving as free guards :)
But I see you′ve already found a place

Heh, once I was in the bruma prison, an' me and Jorundr staged a jail break. We 'fought', the guard came in, and we both killed him. Sadly, he was killed in the process.

Well yeah... I walked up to them with my weapon drawn, even though I have 100 personality I don't think that will change anything, it won't change anything at all, it will just make hostile npcs ignore me. For most normal characters who don't have that high personality are probably engaged in battle if they draw their weapon , which is quite normal in most cases. So you should avoid drawing a weapon near them.
