Planescape on Good Old Games?

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 11:51 pm

Anyone from gamesas could inform me if Planescape: Torment will be on GOG.com for sale like Fallout, and MDK? I really want to play Planescape but I'm not going to pay 60 bucks at Amazon.com for a second hand copy, it's ridiculous.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Planescape will not be included in that deal. All of the D&D licensed titles are no longer available to gamesas (the licensing agreement with Atari/Hasbro/WOTC has expired). I'd sell you mine, except I really like it and hope to play it again someday. ^_^

I picked up Planescape a few months ago but have yet to play it. All I know about it is that it's like Baldurs Gate and has an awesome story.

In many aspects it's much better than Baldur's gate. "Beer, of course, is actually a depressant, but poor people will never stop hoping otherwise." - Kurt Vonnegut, Hocus Pocus, 1990

Apart from the combat which actually manages to be somewhat worse than Baldur's Gate II due to the awkward interface, it's pretty much the best of the Infinity Engine games in terms of its story. I still have those Planescape source books that I won in the fansite contest so very long ago. Got the two gigantic high quality glittering posters framed up on the walls of my room -- the very beautifully drawn map of Sigil: City of Doors, and the factions. They can't. They don't have the D&D license (which included Planescape) anymore. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

I've still got my copy and wouldn't part with it.

It does look like the sort of game GOG would sell, so maybe once they are fully up and running we will see it added to their list of games. Have GOG even started fully running yet? The last time I checked they were just launching their beta phase and looking for people to sign up

Yeah, bought that off e-Bay on a whim.

Torment was truly great for anyone who could appreciate a good story and didn't mind going through tons of (excellent) dialog.

The first time I finished the game, it took me 2 weeks to go through all those quests and dialogues. Still one of my favorite RPGs ever. ;)
