I use fliggs place to host my mods. I think only my two latest mods arent on PES.
Yes I know that and I also know that you're still part of MMH Steward, so we both know that http://download.fliggerty.com/download-118 is a perfect site to host mods on especially when Fligg can arrange uploads of larger files and AFAIK there is file size of 300 Mb right now. :tes:

I really hate to say this, but I wouldn't waste any more time on ElricM since the last time it went down, which was quite frustrating imo and it took to long for him to get the site back online. Instead download everything you can from there and I've already downloaded every Oblivion mods there is available unless there is some new submitted mods.

great, i start modding and the best place to upload mods goes down :(

i like GHFs layout and everything but there seems to be no ratings, comments and no hall of fame :(
my mod has 300+ downloads @PES and 2 downloads @GHF :(

this all sounds very bad to me, soon we will make the mods only for ourselves and like 20 other MW nerds :(

I know. Some people don't give a crap either. They say "good riddance to non lore-friendly/ bad mods." I say FK you! PES was the best place. Ratings, comments, hall of fame, even tesNexus only has endorsemants/ forums. nothing more.

What are you talking about of course you can allow comments and uploading screenshots for your mods, but I think Fligg doesn't want or like rating mods not sure though. In case you didn't know that, but MMH has something called weekly spotlight for a mod and if you miss something why wouldn't you post your suggestions http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=17.

See, moddb isn't dedicated to one series or game. Therefore while it may be nice and all, it just isn't ideal to me. MMH is mainly for mods that are pretty much lost to the world and have been salvaged. A new site to replace PES would be the best thing in my opinion. Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one.
How about this site... http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/ ...and I know they have mods for Morrowind, Oblivion hosted there. No MMH can be a perfect place to host mods especially if PES is gone for good, but we are not there yet aren't we.

I haven't even heard of at least two of those sites people have mentioned...

Very bad news indeed. PES really was, up until now, the most reliable and the most user-friendly mainstream site. I know there's the impression that Morrowind Modding History is only for lost gems, but I would really encourage people to start archiving there anyway, even if they are more popular mods. It doesn't sound like we're going to get a lot of warning when/if PES really does go down completely, and I suspect if it does, a lot will be lost.

I know how to use Filezilla ^^.

But how use it to download the content of a site? It's like a site's extractor. But I need the exact adress link to dwnload all the contents or something else to have access to all the mods...

How sad.

Another part of Morrowind modding relegated to history.

*old*

Edit: Also, my avatar host is apparently gone. *really old*

Has anyone asked if Fliggerty wants to step in and do something? He is the guy with the resources.

Lets not forget here people, PES also hosted mods for games aside from MW. Considering the large communities surrounding Oblivion and now Skyrim, I am sure that some people would step up to help if asked.(darnit! if I had a proper job I would look into it)

Try contacting APY and see if he can arrange for the bulk download of everything ?

Yes but maybe someone with good resources would be better at this job than me.
Like Fliggerty or Kingpix.

So I have wrote to the admin of PES, to see if there is a way to save all these mods and hosted it elsewhere.

I have also wrote to the admin of TESNexus, to see if he can (like he did for the Gothic community) talk with PES admin and recovered all the mods into TESNexus or even a new Morrowind Nexus mod site (we can dream of it :P).

my concern is less with losing the archived mods, and losing support for modding. PES was really the only site that actively supported Morrowind mods while being 'out there'.
Fliggerty's, while nice, is pretty obscure.
The Nexus is always overwhelmed by kawaii hair mod #300, or people asking where to get the tirbunal mod for Oblivion.
And there's really not enough interest on ModDB.

Seeing as the Nexus Admin has been opening up new Nexus sites, I'd say a mass petition to separate the Oblivion and Morrowind Nexus sites would be the best choice. The Nexus is pretty reliable, and if it can be isolated from all those Oblivion hentai mods, I'm sure it would be a great place to host the mods. A ton of work, though.
