planned/ideas for mods

ok, so lets say this new engine and CS will easily (within modding standards) let you create new animations, lighting, scenery, physics; whatever you need to make a great mod. what mods would you make?

It's hard to say; you can't really think of ideas for modding a game that isn't out yet. How do you know that idea isn't in the game?

Quests/companions can be planned ahead, especially since we know the setting more or less.

It certainly is early days to be doing anything other than general planning, but we have a great modding community and no doubt they will be rolling up their sleeves and thinking of things. :)

I've got to do something with the magic system, make a cool spell or something.

And sure maybe the magic system is awesome and it doesn't need revamping, well I'll just make an extra cool spell...

Oh, and a house mod. I like to make a simple house mod with portals and hidden doors everywhere.

If it's anything unique, it probably isn't. But even two simple fetch quests can be completely different from each other if you wrap a different story around them.

Assuming that the leveling is similar to previous TES games, a GCD or nGCD mod would be nice.

I like big mods, but I also like mods that add little touches. Small things like Denock Arrow so that you can release the draw on your bow without wasting the shot or Clocks of Cyrodill which was just a nice touch. I hope those make it into Skyrim one way or the other. I also like illuminated staves as an alternative to torches.

Know what would be an awesome mod if something similar isn't already in place in the mages guild (assuming there is one).

ill use the mages guild as an example since it fits well, but this could work with a personal house or any significant building that there is one in each major city.

It is basically like the teleporters that were on top of the tower dlc for oblivion which teleported you to any mages guild, kind of as if you combined that with morrowind's teleporters in each mages guild except that each one sent you to a room at the main mages guild from where you could simply go to any other mages guild.

If something like this is not implemented via a mages guild or similar guild, this would make for an awesome mod, you have a simple house which is added to the game up in the mountains, in the basemant of the house there would be a round room with a number of normal looking wooden doors. Each door would have a corresponding door in each of the major cities. the simple way to do this would simply to have each door be a simple activator and by clicking on it, the game would go to a load screen and you would appear on the other side. The best way to do it would be similar to how portals work in valves game Portal. where you could actually open the door and simply walk through into the city on the other side seamlessly with no loading screen, perhaps having the cell of the city load when the door is opened?

This would be a great work-around to fast travel if the devs dont add local fast travel to the game and keep oblivions, click anywhere on the map that you've been and you teleport there, method.

I have an idea for modders:

More Pub Speech
Not speech as in interactively, but more of a background noise where you hear people talking amongst themselves

I do not like fan-based voice acting, so...
Take some of the voice script lines from Oblivion and Skyrim,
Cut all the lines up to form single words like "I" "Heard" "Rumors" etc.
Form new sentences! creative ones with humor that seem to fit in the pvssyr you would hear at a pub or on the streets, just not lore breaking speeches.

Imagine walking into a pub at night and you hear a couple saying http://hotfile.com/dl/91724546/d4278ce/More_Pub_Speech_-_Example.mp3.html :goodjob:

Tho i do not know how or if you can change the mouth movements to fit the speech's you have made, if i did, i would probably do this myself - if it wasn't tedious

Hopefully I can throw my head into the world of textures as soon as possible! I recently bought new software and plugins for photoshop and they look just great.

I'd also like a Glorious Castle.

Along with a 'Siege' mod where I can tear down and destroy other people's Castles in a storm of fire and blood....But I digress...

I have removed several posts from this thread. Please for the love of all that is holy, use the report button and stop quoting. This just makes a mess of things and has me deleting posts for like 15 minutes.

Thanks, appreciate it ;)

i myself am not overly skilled in scripting etc, but i like to mess around with resources and pre-included items, and i would love to make a COD nazi zombie style mod where you have to defend your humble skyrim mountain shack abode from waves of creatures, and at the end you have to fight a dragon or somthing, but by that time you are a fully equiped slayer of epic power!!!!!!!!one11!
