Planning for a Skyrim PC

Post » Sat Dec 06, 2014 12:08 pm

Hi all,

Please let me know if there's a 'Getting Started' or similar thread on this alias for people who are thinking of trying the PC experience.

If not, I'd appreciate your input. I've been on the Xbox for a couple years and am thinking of getting a PC to try all the Skyrim mods etc. My only known requirements are the HDMI input on the TV and the need to use a console-style controller, I don't want to use the keyboard to play.

So, with that out in the open, please provide recommendations on system requirements (OS, memory, graphics, etc. etc.). I have a reasonable budget so I'm not looking to save as much as possible. I'd really prefer something robust and stable that'll facilitate gameplay for a few years at least.

Much appreciated!

Pre-built or you want to build it yourself ???

Budget to tell, would be very helpful IMHO. !!!

As a rule, i wouldn't suggest anything lower that a Nvidia GTX 660 or Ati R9 270X

Controllers:

Second recommendation:

Hi - prebuilt would be best given my skills.

If I had to put a number on it, I'd say the ceiling is $1200-$1300...

Thank you
