Play after end

Obviously yes. There's no point in having an open world if you can't sit back and enjoy it.

If I had to stop playing Skyrim after the end of the main quest, I would be one sad elf.

Me too. In New Vegas, it made sense for it to have a definitive ending. TES games are built differently.

I think you should be able to play after the game's main quest is finished, but that is because I rather enjoy dumping hundreds of hours into characters. That is not exaggeration.

Why would anyone want less gameplay time? Seems stupid to me.

I like the idea of continuing after the Main Quest has ended, if its done in a way that the world around me reacts accordingly to it.

While playing Oblivion, having a statue erected in Bruma after the main quest was over, just to be treated like a commoner by a random npc walking right by it is pretty underwhelming...

Its probably a lot of work and it wont be implemented, but I don't think it has been done properly in a lot of games. It would be something TES5 can improve on and set a precedent about if they dedicate some time and effort to build some content to flesh out the ending after the main quest is done. It would feel to me like an actual reward for finishing the game and would be a very nice surprise.

So yes, if its done correctly, I would enjoy playing after the MQ, otherwise I skip on it, because it kind of kill the impact of the whole ending events for me.

I always see the elder scrolls games as playable after beating the main quest. If this is not the case in skyrim, needless to say I will be disappointed.

It should have multiple ways to go.

One ending you die in.

The other, you live (maybe get imprisoned or something) and can play through after that.

Then another where you walk out a hero, but have made quite a few enemies.

"You are free to live your life... but for how long?"

I would be vastly disappointed if they did not allow play after the end of the main quest....this is an Elder Scrolls game after all.

In a TES game I don't think you can have a real real real ending to the story. Why? In the lands that are filled with different things going on, something will always come about. Treat the world as the world we live in. We accomplish something here, something else is brewing over there.

Of course it should allow you to play after the main quest. If it ended after the Main Quest, who would bother with it?
