It's just better for me, ive played rPG's, but diablo 2 was joke when u got rushed lol.
Things are easier to kill and i don;t lose any content, it's awesome, plus i dont have time to die a 100 times before i finally kill something, anways, game is amazing
I play on Master, because for an Assassin character the game is amazingly easy with dual-wielded dagger+sword.
My character is so [censored], ive used magic, bows, axes, im so weak with everything, but now i try everything, then make a new character when i know for sure
I play at default. I'm happy that some people like to play on the hardest setting, but not everyone plays to be challenged in combat. For me combat is one of the least interest aspects of an Elder Scrolls game.
I switch most time I'm between adept, expert, and master. If I'm getting my butt handed to by ice bear on master, I would put it down to adept. If I find myself against bunch lousy bandits, I amp it up or let it stay on master.

Imagine facing a novice dragon and a master mudcrab. "ARGH THE CLAWS THOSE SNIPPY GRAY CLAWS"
I am sticking with Master no matter how tough it gets. It's just so much more rewarding when I get a difficult kill, like the Hagraven I beat the other day after dying many times.
I play on Novice, and I'm so glad Bethesda included that option. Little Old Lady no longer has any hand-eye coordination or quick reaction time. All I can do is bash 'em with my sword ... and ... then ... bash 'em with my sword again.
Master is just too silly. I tried it and spent half the time I'd normally spend actually hitting a mob running around a stone he couldn't jump over. That's pretty messed up in my opinion. So yeah, master is too silly and adept makes some mobs too easy. Expert all the way.
I keep it on default, I thinks its the perfect mix, u get ur high powered people still who challenge u but u also get the weaklings which u always have in any game. The hard ones are fOr a challenge and to feel great about after u beat them but the weak ones are there for thrill of beating somebody into a pulp for challenging u when they should be a farmer...
I play on normal/adept. I seriously considered lowering the difficulty once but decided against it. What happened was my character was all decked out in elven armor and kept getting one hit killed by a guy wearing fur armor wielding a steel axe. After I finally killed him I opened up the console to check his level. He was five levels below my character. I can only guess that he somehow dumped everything into health and one-handed.
I think the way level scaling and skills work together might be affecting the difficulty. In my case half of my skills are not directly combat related, the highest being all the crafting skills. So the few combat skills I have aren't quite matching up with my level. I have some pretty amazing equipment though. My destruction skill is pretty high but the damage I do with my sword dwarfs all of my destruction spells.
I think the game gets easier the fewer skills you focus on. I wanted to try a little bit of everything with my first character and I'm facing the consequences. For my next I think I'll stick to one crafting skill, one combat skill and a couple of utility skills.
Expert is where it's at. Too much quicksaving and potion [censored] mid fights gets mad irritating, plus this way I don't have to min max, I can get into the flow of things.
