Play Skyrim at PAX

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 11:11 am

Details on our Skyrim PAX plans from the http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/08/22/pax-prime-plans/.

At our booth (#1314), you won’t want to miss your chance to play RAGE, as well as presentations of Prey 2 at the top of every hour. On top of that, fans will be able to play Skyrim for the first time!

But wait, there’s more! At 3:30 pm on Saturday, Todd Howard will be giving a special presentation of the game in the Unicorn theater. Seating is expected to be limited, so you will definitely want to line up early. As a bonus, everyone that attends the demo will receive a ticket which can be redeemed at our booth for a Skyrim plush helmet — just like the one being modeled by our lovely 2008 PAX statue, Burnadette.

If you’re not able to get the helmet at the presentation, you can also visit our Skyrim food truck to grab one. Located at 9th & Pine (across from the Paramount Theater) from 11:30 to 3:00 pm Saturday, the truck will feature the following foods fit for a Nord:

Hope to see you there!

You'll be able to go where you want and do what you want for about 20 minutes -- pretty much like what we let press do at QuakeCon.

We're not releasing the QuakeCon video exactly, but we'll have something similar very soon. As I've mentioned before, it'll be by the end of summer.

Very Soon = End of Summer ?

Thanks.
I was unaware of that.

Nice! The press had 45-60 minutes though I thought? Will character creation be included, or will there be a default player?

Anyone here going to PAX?

If so, make sure and absorb all you can if you get to play the demo and report here on the forums

Someone might sell the helmet on eBay as it will be very rare.

What?

That's my guess of the console command that would teleport you to the top of the highest mountain. :P

Not that I'd expect a PC demo.

"coc" was a command you could put in the developer's console in Oblivion (and possibly Morrowind too?) to teleport you somewhere.
So "coc throatoftheworldexterior" would teleport you outside the throat of the world.
Probably to screw with the Greybeards or something :P .

Edit: :ninja:

The "end of summer" is different depending on what part of the country you live in. Where I live, the summer will end around November 11.
