Yep, it different. And those guys and their witty remarks! What really funny is were they even born 20 years ago?

They played FO1 and 2 from the womb.

But ya, that was my thought when playing FO3. Times sure changed.

not everyone is 12 ya know. Sure games have changed since then but that doesn't make any of the "new" stuff better. I approach playing older games the same way I approach watching older movies. Sure you might say, "Wow the special effects are crap!" but that doesn't make the movie bad.

Just making a joke about the, you know.

Cue bash of FO3 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

Times sure have changed in 20 years - but not necessarily all out for the better.

It more than often seems that these days robust complexity and reactivity is sacrificed in the altar of streamlining and massappeal pressures (even though no matter where you look, you see people complaining about oversimplification). Visual and audio presentation gets better and more complex game by game and year by year, but contrary to logic, the gameplay gets progressively worse. Go figure.

Wait what?

I think he meant in terms of graphics and such.

And it is pretty amazing as far as how quickly computer technology has advanced in the last 20 years.

I mean, play Wasteland. It makes Fallout 1 and 2 seem really advanced graphics/technology wise. Then play Fallout 3 and New Vegas, which seem really advanced graphics/technology wise compared to Fallout 1 and 2. In ten years, 3 and New Vegas will seem just as "old fashioned" graphics wise as Fallout 1 and 2 do today.

Indeed. I was having trouble imaging what could possibly be considered a technological advance in FO3/NV besides 3D hardware dependence.
