Are there any 2 player games on the PC? I really can't think of anything except for FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. I've played over 300 matches with my mate and we really need to play a different game now. Something which we can play against each other using controllers.

Genres could include racing games or shooters. And it must be a good game.

IIRC, Overlord has split-screen PC multiplayer. I never tried it though so I'm not sure how the controls work.

Can't go wrong with Worms.
I rember hearing about a game with local multiplayer, but I can't remember it for the life of me.

Monday Night Combat could work, it is meant for 6 v 6 but it would be doable on 1 v 1, it also has a coop game mode. It has LAN too. I'm not really sure if that is the kind of thing you are looking for though.

I also second Worms: Reloaded.

The new You Dont Know Jack! for PC has a 2 player Multiplayer. Unfortunately, this is stripped down from the old games that was 3 player, and even more from the 360 and PS3 version which are 4 player.

But slight rant aside, it's something to look at. YDKJ! was a ton of fun. Dunno about this version though.

Call of Duty World at War has co-op and you can also do zombies with just 2 people. You can do Left 4 Dead with just 2 people and bots too. NBA 2K11 has two player, if you like basketball.
