I bought New Vegas about a week ago, but only really started to get into it today. I'm really enjoying myself so far, but being almost totally clueless, I'm hoarding weapons and ammunition in case I need it. Now I need a place to dump my stuff.

First of all, are there any safe containers I can use to store my items? So far I've mostly stuck to the main questline, meaning I've travelled through and completed quests in Goodsprings, Primm, Nipton, Novac and the Mojave Outpost.

Secondly, are there any player homes that can be obtained? Be it through purchasing them, quest rewards, or just killing the owner and claiming the house as your own.
