Player Housing/Companions/Romance

Post » Fri Mar 19, 2010 5:39 am

I have three questions/suggestions:

1. Will there be player housing in Skryim? I wouldn't doubt it since its in Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout NV. If there is, could you please make the houses look better? For instance, in Oblivion some of the houses were too dark or had bugs/glitches with them.

2. Will you add companions in Skyrim? What I liked about Fallout 3 (and NV) was that there were A LOT more companions than in Oblivion, and each one was unique.

3. Will you add SOME kind of romance in Skyrim? In Fallout 3 and Fallout NV (especially NV), there seemed to be a lot more romance than in Oblivion (actually, I don't even think that there was ANY romance in Oblivion). What I mean by romance is that you guy give us players the option to maybe flirt with NPCs, have a spouse or atleast a Companion that acts like one, and maybe even give players the option to have six (just like in Fallout NV). If you add this, make sure to make it for both genders (don't just add female NPCs who the player can romance with, but also add male ones incase the player is a female). It would be EVEN cooler if there were companions that you could romance with and such (Incase you have noticed, there are quite a few Oblivion mods out there that add companions of which you can romance with).

I know that this is a lot of stuff to add, but if you could ATLEAST have the bare minimum (player housing, companions, and romance).

SKYRIM FTW!!!!

No romances, this isn't a Bioware game (thank God).

1. Housing is in. However, its useless to me if Skyrim has the same item placement mechanics as Oblivion had. No use having a house unless you can carefully array the loot you've won.

2. I don't care either way. If they do have companions, I won't use them.

3. Not against romance. It basically boils down to a series of quests anyway.

Well, if no romance, what about female slaves? I always wanted to bring a female to my jail in my house in Morrowind and use the lock spell on it.

i say yes to all of them. I like a little romance in games.. what hunter wouldnt want to come home to his wife, and have her make him a mammoth sandwich ((mammoth in both size and meat)) while he arranges his loot and then have some rough nord six. I dont see the big deal, if they want to add it to the game im all for it.

Well I hope that housing doesn't end being as silly as it was in Oblivion, with a house in every city that served no real purpose. I liked the way it was in Fallout 3, with just a single home to store your stuff in etc. That's all the player really needs.

To be honest I loved how morrowind had the whole stronghold thing. Also if you dislike the places the game gives you for a home y not just kill the owner of a house you find...... Like that nice clothing store in Balmora.... with the nice shelves and big bench to lay out all you epic weapons and armors...... XD

Housing should be more interesting, would be nice if you could go to a town, see a nice house, then ask the owner if you could buy it (perhaps if you were friends they'd sell it you you, and if you weren't friends, perhaps some threats and/or a quick murder would free up the house).
For companions, would be great as long as their AI is sufficiently advanced. So far TES games have come up poorly in this regard, NPC's that run around wildly, that will run for hours while stuck on a stick in the ground, etc. Would be nice to have someone follow me around, someone to talk to, however I don't want someone to babysit.
Romance, yes to that as well, however I'd like to say right now that six is not necessary for a romance (and trust me it'll get modded in regardless). We know they're including a more complex system, where people who you are friends with will offer more help in quests, etc. Well I see no reason not to take things a little further. Heck I'd be happy with a bit of flirting and maybe some sixual innuendo, just as long as NPC's don't completely ignore your gender (the quest "the siren's deception" in Oblivion was a pretty good version of this, just need more quests to have some of this (particularly the alternate lines of dialogue depending on your gender)). Oh and some more options would be nice as well, If quests and NPC's do have some sort of relationship building experience, then there should be multiple options on how you want to proceed with that quest.
