Player in Red

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:40 am

Sometimes I see players in-game turn red like an armor or aura. Can someone explain what does it do?

Still searching for an answer ATM.

Thanks!

A player being tagged through the Nanosuit Visor gets this red aura.
There is also a perk that marks players through the weapon scopes.

that means they are tagged trough visor

one of your teammembers is tagging them thats why they are red if you kill a red enemy then the tagger gets extra points.

its the same function as SP bring up your visor mode press f to tag a enemy player.

Yep, thats tagging.
There is also a perk called visor enhance - Im currenly at lvl 3 with it.

Usefull if you have an glare lcd and have reflections on it or when you just want to see the enemy before he will see you.

Does anyone else not have to press their 'Use' key to tag people in MP (No, I'm not using Visor Enhance)? I can just open visor and scan the horizon and anyone I mouse-over gets tagged - cloaked or not.

I quite often tag stealthed enemies and then just keep aiming at them so the tag is constantly refreshing, which allows a teammate to light them up from across the map although they can't see them and the killcams show the triangles above everyone so they never know they were tagged. Free wallhacks for everyone!

Tagging people can be really useful. Sometimes, on the lighthouse map, I'm sitting in the house (protecting the snipers). And if there's no enemy near, I will always tag enemies and the snipers kill them. I simply help them finding targets xD

Is there some alarm/sound/indicator that alerts that YOU have been tagged?

And this is so fricking cool - I love it :) I found it really sharpens the edge of the game and if both teams are operating good with this tool then its really hard cause everybody know where everybody are (or most of them) :)

Agreed! It's something I have started using when I see an enemy too far away to cap with my close range weapons, at least that way somebody else can try and get them. It's cool when guys group up close together and you get a bunch at one time too!

Oh yeah, but some Players are using a module (blind spot?) and you can't tag them. If you watch them through the visor, you will only see a red cross which tells you that you can't tag them....

this stuff is useless in meat-like maps of Crysis2
all you need is big gun and fast run so get perks to provide maximum of firepower, run speed and stealth and get in
all the crap like trace, cloak detector and other just useless becouse every second you shoot someone or someone shoots at you
if maps were twice or three time bigger for 16 player - may be we could use most of the perk
but now..
i finished with experiments
i have just few effective perks that allow me be in top of the game results
it's so so sad.. everything that the game need is BIGGER maps and better cheater protection

Not bigger maps but better organized, so you could really form any tactic with your team mates.

Bigger maps are seriously needed to salvage this game.

Large maps

Teams of 24

normal sprint and power sprint as separate actions.

^^That would be simple to implement in a patch/expansion and would make the game a helluva lot better for PC users.

I've never used visor tagging before, do you get any points for tagging people if a teammate kills the guy you tagged?

I have seen 10 XP when I tag and somebody else does the kill. Not sure how much more if I tag then get the kill.

It depends on the game type.

I think tagging on Crash site nets you 10xp per tagged killed while on TIA it gets you about 20xp per tagged killed.

Also I use visor tag a lot not just to help my team mates but also so I could see stealth units better.

I can't believe it took a lot of people this long to find out how that works. Crytek should introduce some training videos for this.
