PC Players: A Favour Please?

Post » Sat Jan 09, 2016 5:17 pm

Hello Kindly PC Players,

Would it be possible for one of you to look in your Console Settings to see if there is listed an actual amount of time that a character can "hold breath" while sniping, and also how much time it is when the perk that extends it is taken, Please?

Or, does anybody already know these times?

I have trouble hold down my left stick on PS4 to "hold breath" while sniping due to mild arthritis.

So, I am going to program my ChronusMax to hold it down for me...to essentially make it "*Click* to hold-breath", instead of "*Click+Hold* to hold-breath".

Anyone with these times, I will buy you a beer if you share them with me. :)

I don't know how to find the information you want, but I will mention this: it's based on your AP. I don't know if it's a flat drain or a percentage drain, though. The first would allow a character with more AP to hold their breath longer. The second, on the other hand, would mean all characters would have the same duration no matter their AP. I mention this because if it is a flat drain, you're going to have to choose between somehow figuring out how much time you'd get from your current AP, or simply having your macro run for a fixed duration. The first would require somehow getting current AP values from the game and quickly determining time to hold breath; I imagine this is well outside the scope of most macros, but I may be wrong. The second would probably be much easier, but if you set the time to what a character with 1 Agility and no AP boosts would get, characters with higher Agility and any AP boost will end up not being able to hold their breath as long as their stats say they should.

I realize that this isn't the information you requested, but I do think it's something to at least think about.

As the above mentions, there are a lot of variables. You would have to tweak your duration every time a variable changed. That's a very big task which would require a lot of testing.

That said, it would be a nice option to click into hold breath and have it go off when you ran out of AP. Maybe a mod will do this?

I haven't noticed any actual AP drain while holding my breath, so I am assuming (Yes, bad Me, very bad Me!) that it would be a flat time adjusted for Perception (Since the Sniper Perk is Perception based.), and then adds the extra time from the Sniper Perk.

I thought that since PC Players are able to Mod alrewady they would have easy access to those variables for their own modding usage.

I wouldn't assume that the perk runs off of Perception just because it's in the Perception line. Sprinting uses up Action Points, for example, which are determined from Agility, but Endurance actually determines how fast your Action Points drain while Sprinting.
