PC players: Mouse+kb or pad?

Post » Sun Oct 16, 2011 6:40 am

Hi all ;D

Assuming this game will support USB pads (using microsoft's xbox one as an example), which will you be using?

I'm in 2 minds to be honest! Mouse+kb is obviously better for fighting, as aiming with thumbsticks has never been enjoyable or practical in a free-aim situation (in my opinion anyway, you can keep CoD, yawn). It's also better for free-looking around as you make your way around the game.

But mouse + kb requires me to sit upright like I do at work all day, and just isn't as relaxing as slumping back in my big chair with my legs crossed and a pad in my lap. Plus to be fair to microsoft, the xbox pad is basically perfect (again, in my opinion).

I'm giving this WAY too much thought, but is anyone planning on using a pad on PC?

Keyboard and mouse all the way. Always better than gamepad. The only times when I play a PC game with a gamepad is when I play team sport games like FIFA 12

My first play through will be with a pad so I can sit back and get comfy while I immerse myself in the game.

After that first playthrough and when I start Modding the game that's when I'll use the mouse and keyboard.

I'd never use a controller with a game like this when I can help it, only for driving games.

KB+Mouse, because that's the way I prefer to play my first-person view games. Pad is better for platforms, sports, driving etc..

Neither. A touchpad.

But you still have to use a keyboard, so it should be keyboard & touchpad.

Tried playing Oblivion on my brothers 360 and really didn't like the controller.

Why use hipster crutches that evolved from an arcade joystick and two buttons?

Why use a "drag and click tool" easy enough to use for babies and a device that is made for typing?

Because it's easier to use and more keys to assign. Elder Scrolls games aren't meant to be a challenge, they're meant to be fun.
