PC players vs. Xbox360 players vs. PS3 players.

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:28 am

Is it going to be possible for players on the PC play against xbox 360 players / ps3 players?
I have a few friends getting it for 360 and ps3, and i'm the only one getting it for pc, and I'm just wondering if it's possible.

Not likely. Console players would form a suicide cult if they found out how inferior their controls really are.

I don't see why no since PC players claim it's an identical port! /sarcasm

Mouse+Keyboard is easier to use, so they can aim and kill faster. That's why console controllers have aim assist, because it's harder to use a controller.

They've already put PC gamers vs. Console gamers and console gamers got MERKED. lol

The PC players saying that are only representative of one small segment. They're the same ones waiting for E-sports to become part of the special olympics.

I think the Keyboard + Mouse combo is better than the joystick. PC players have more mobility than the Console users.

sure aim asist is forced on controllers

you act like you would never be able to get an accurate shot with out aim aist which is not true

i mean come on games that have aim asist and yet you see people doing extremely crazy stupid things and act like they have skill example

quick scopes abusing the aim asist to a point of stupidity
jumping out of a window and sniping some one as you fall

this stuff is easy to do in games that have aim assist and should be taken off

and stop acting like mouse and keyboard ives you some kinda amazing accuracy other wise pc players would always get crazy kill scores since their accuracy is incredibly high which is not true

and mobility is also not true like are you serious mobility wasd vs 360 degree movement

Yeh mouse keyboard combo is in theory far superior than gamepad but it depends on the player at the end of the day.

To a lesser degree the same could be said about PS3 pad and the Xbox pad. The anolog sticks are far superior to the xbox360's so in theory people using PS3 pads should play better, but again it depends on the players.

I would like to see PS3 vs Xbox360, but they'd have to really learn how to balance the teams.

You wanna see the true difference between controller and m+k? Put a console gamer against a pc gamer in a match of counterstrike (not cod or other sh1ts like that) with no aim assists. I would seriously be AMAZED if the guy with the controler manages to get even ONE KILL!

When u'll be able to pull up one tenth of the quality of moves in this movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o30lcEr49cY&hd=1 with a gamepad in a COMPETITIVE shooter (which are an soon to be extinct breed, thnx to money hunger of the devs), then come say console gamers have ANYTHING against pc gamers.

Microsoft did a test a while back between XBOX and PC players, because they wanted to make a system so that XBOX could play against PCs.
They very quickly realized that it wouldn't work, because every console player got owned so hard by the PC players.
Then they tried pitting pro console players against average PC players - same result.

So nope, not going to happen.

A shooter does not have to be greatly about aiming skills, it can be designed to reward more advanced skills than just primitive aiming-skills more. That is something people have a hard time to spend some creative thoughts about so they completely ignore it. Also a heavy reason joypads are inferior in aiming is all the same traditional aiming-desing and bad implementation like in halo3, as example. With an universal and interactive quick 180-degree-turn-feature added to well implemented aiming-response things can look a bit different.

Here is a console player btw:

joystick is better than a keyboard for movement as it moves in all 360 degrees where as keyboard is only at 45 degree intervals. also joystick can move as variable speeds for example if you push the joystick a bit you move slower this makes it better for driving games and sports games.

The mouse is better than the joystick though for aiming.

Here's your answer

TBH not trying to make myself look better but i do that with a joystick i get gunship virtually ever match. and hes playing with random people and around 90% of people who play ALL COD games on console are garbage.

^ oh wow. owned.

Yea... if they made a cross-platform setup in ANY game, the only way it would work in 360 vs. PS3.

Throwing PC into the mix would just result in epic lolz. I would enjoy it, and I want it to happen, but it wont.

And what would those skills be? Knitting? Cooking? Painting? It's a first person S H O O T E R!
And one more thing, ur saying cs is all about aiming? U have NO IDEA what ur talking about. Yes, aiming is a very important part of it, but so is smarts AND, probably the most important of them all, TEAMPLAY. It's the perfect competitive and not only shooter game. It's not a coincidence cs is the most successful multiplayer game EVER created, going for 11 years now and counting.
Anyway, we're kind of going off topic here. /ending_rant

Oh, there is plenty of room how to make a shooter a richer experience apart from aiming-skills. One another thing are the weapons: If you look at many shooters you will notice one thing, they mostly have just linear weapons. That alone is limiting the scope of providing some more interesting diversity. It is also a reason why some players choose unreal tournament classic over cod: ut goes for more non-linear weapon-usage and vertical gameplay.

I don't think this will happen but it would be a cool idea, as the PC will be the most superior version.
I would love to see that though were we will have a huge pool of C2 fans, that will be nice.

Hell I use a crazy combo of 360 controller and mouse in most FPS games. controller in the left hand for the anolog movement with the superior aim of a mouse. Though most of you are going to think I'm nuts things like the Wiimote in the right hands blows mouse away, granted it only works if aiming and looking are decoupled.

Oh yeah Shadow run did PC and 360 and only the best of the best 360 players could deal with a PC player.

point stands

the way you guys say it is like every one on pc has extremely high accuracy ratings when thats not the case it all comes down to player skill

put a perosn whos used to pc with a controller and they will think its inaccurate
put a person whos used to controller on pc and they will think its inaccurate

thats one of things i hate about pc gamers they always think they are the best at everything when its not true im just glad that crytek allowed you to turn the aim asist off on consoles and guess what i actually did better with it off than when it was on which is weird since you would think it would be the opposite
