Playing as an Altmer

I wonder if you get in any trouble because of it? I heard that Khajit have problems with entering many cities, for example.

Khajiit traders aren't allowed into cities mainly because they deal Skooma and other items frowned upon by the Nords. As for playing a High Elf. You can join the Storm cloaks with no more resistance than any other race.

I once played a High Elf and all I got was snide "Do your pretty magic casting elsewhere, elf." comments.
