playing dead is dead on legendary, is it feasible?

I like to play d is d even though level 1 restarts are frustrating. Now i have gotten to level 50 on Adept and im quite over powered now. So i want to crank up the challenge. Clearly the legendary level being the highest would be the ultimate achievement. But is it realistically sensible or even possible?????? Naturally i have given it a whirl, but i get ripped a new one within just a few encounters at level 1. A sabrecat only has to look at my woefully low armour level to make my char die of fright! The only way i survived the first imperial npc attack in the helgen keep keepright at the start was by letting poor ol' ralof do all the work while i hid like a milkdrinker in the shadow area behind the door....... Has anyone started and progressed on legendary to a more proficient level. If so how did you build and play you char for success???

Rick.

I haven't done it yet, but from what I hear, its complete suicide.

Just those simple wolves outside of Helgen can kill you.

It's hard you really have plan things out to survive just can't go outside anymore without gear, potions and good weapons :P

I played DiD on master and died at level 5 while making a tactical retreat (ie, running away like Sir Robin) and ran through the wrong door and straight into a swinging log trap. Since then I have switched to expert or adept, depending on the character.

I can only imagine starting on legendary for a DiD run would be brutal. I don't have the 1.9 patch since I don't want the lip since glitch.

I dont think I would ever do it, but your safest bet is to level sneak early on, do Thieves guild quests(they dont really involve combat much), then when you have enough gold, level those crafting skills to make your gear.

I don't have patch 1.9 but this thread is giving me the itch to try DiD on Master again, with a build that focuses exclusively on Conjuration, Illusion and Sneak, with no weapon skills. Just Illusion (frenzy) and Conjuration for dealing damage.

Since Conjuration and Illusion are unaffected by the difficulty slider, it theoretically should not make any difference what difficulty you are playing at, as long as you don't get hit. Illusion (muffle and invisibility) and Sneak are pretty good at keeping you from getting hit, especially if you are not engaging in direct combat.
