Playing Fallout 2 on 1680x1050

Post » Sun Jun 27, 2010 1:18 am

Will there ever be a feasible way to play Fallout 2 so that it isn't windowed at a high resolution?
I tried it at the stated resolution, windowed at a high normal aspect ratio resolution and it just isn't working out too well.
I think Bethesda should just re-release Fallout 1 and 2 with newer compatibilities and absolutely nothing else added into it besides the "Fallout 2 restoration project" and unoffical patch contents.

Since Bethesda didn't develop Fallout 1 or 2 (it was done by Interplay) I doubt this will ever happen. Of course, I know nothing of this Fallout 2 restoration project you speak of.

There was a patch that I got from NMA which allowed higher resolutions. 1680x1050 being one. Check Fallout modding wiki, I think I got it first from there.

I don't think they should release new versions of the game for free because that would be illegal at the moment since its being sold in stores. Plus my computer is new and fallout 1 and 2 works fine.
