Greetings!
I am having some huge problems with my computer and Fallout 4. The game crashes and my computer freezes and has to be rebooted consistently after a couple of minutes of game time. However, this was not always the case.
I used a VPN to get in on the Australia/New Zealand release time to play early. Everything went smoothly. I probably played for like 10 hours pretty straight, not a single incident. Yesterday, somewhere between 15:00 and 18:00 GMT things started going to [censored]. Yesterday I installed the new Nvidia drivers and updated Fallout with the beta patch. Now I can't get the game to play for more than 5 minutes no matter what I do.
This is not the first time this has happened. When I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 and installed the Windows 10 Nvidia drivers the same thing happened. After a while, things worked itself out. I'm guessing some fixes were applied to the drivers.
I also get the "driver has stopped responding..."
Is there anything I can do now?
Things I have tried:
- Rolling back drivers.
- Formatting my drives and reinstalling windows.
- Playing in windowed mode and different resolutions.
- Downclocking my GPU core and memory (was adviced in another thread. I had not overclocked in the first place).
- Deactivating Nvidia Share or whatever it is called.
My specs:
- Intel Core i5-4690K
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
- 250 GB SSD KINGSTON SV300S37A240G
- 2 TB SEAGATE BARRACUDE ST2000DM001-1ER164
- MSI Z97-G55 SLI Motherboard
- 2x4 GB Ram
