Playing Fallout Shelter on a PC

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 12:17 pm

The secret is running an Android Emulator.

1. Download and install the Andy for Android emulator http://www.andyroid.net/

2. From Andy, Install Fallout & Google Drive

3. Use Google Drive to backup and swap the save files from your phone to Andy & back

Have Fun :)

I just wish they would make a PC verions of the game. The thing is not to far from some of your FB games anyway.

I do too. Works like a charm. Just have to assign a hot key for zooming. Works about 1000% better then on my phone.

I suppose game doesn't progress in the background if you close bluestacks or PC, so playing it on PC doesn't sound that practical to me. There's a lot of boring moments in game when nothing else can be done than wait for explorers/trainers/whatever to complete.

The game plays exactly the same on PC and mobile. I've done both, and prefer PC for the bigger screen.

But it's offline game so you need to keep bluestacks always running with your PC or otherwise game doesn't progress in the background?

No, you don't. The game doesn't run in the background on any system. It just checks the time passed since it was last opened and applies it to the various timers.

That is correct. I was afraid of that when i first runned it on PC but it works great. I have only one problem with BlueStacks and that is when i want to zoom out/in, i must tap the assigned key like thousand times and sometimes even that wont work :D Maybe when you play on PC with more RAM, it is better i don't know (My PC has only 4GB so BlueStacks uses 2GB...)

Fallout Shelter saves are based on timestamps (when whe game was saved and what time is "now"), and Bluestacks updates time and date by connecting to an internet source, so Foshelter works perfectly fine.

Actually, most emulators thay require time and date features update their settings either from internet sources or your computer's date and time when they load.

I use bluestacks to play on PC... however be aware that you can fall into the trap of minimising the game and forgetting about it... and before you know it everyone has radiation poisoning in your vault and you don't recover from it.

sigh... lessons learnt the hard way.

No need, you can just change the time in Android.
