Playing The Game As If I Wasen't The Dragonborn

For the people who don't play as Dragonbon, do you have any tips to avoid the annoying dialogue about the dragons returning even though they don't appear until the mainquest. Not to mention theres not much to do if you're not Dragonborn maybe one or two faction quest lines, some misc quests, but thats about it.

There's a fair few "misc quests" man, the main quest is just another quest IMO, very easy to avoid.

If you're on PC, there's a modhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557//? which gives you alternate start options. Pretty cool for roleplaying. It also removes the dragon attacks (and if I remember correctly, removes dialogue about dragons).

If you aren't on PC then simply avoid Jarl Balgruuf. The main quest is such a tiny part of this game and the guild quests are often better suited to your character, do those. But due to some poor writing in the main questlines for guilds/MQ/CW ect the best part of Skyrim is the exploration and discovering quests you originally have no intention to do. Daedric quests, random dungeon quest finds ect. As for the Dragons returning just pretend the Alduin attack on Helgen was a one off air or something like that. Also mostly Bards and poltical leaders discuss that, so avoid them.

Live another life is a fantastic mod as is one that allows you to start the civil war without the MQ, there are other mods that add new 'faction' questlines, but of course thats only for PC.

I guess I should of mentioned I'm a dirty laptop peasant that cant run Skyrim on it, so I then devolve to a console peasant who has no acess to mods. I don't know guys being Dragonborn is kinda is forced on you with Dawnguard telling you're the DB even if you're not, and DB well DB is pretty much only for Dragonborn chracters. I mean its lame that I have to pretty much feign deaf everytime dragons are mentioned. I was able to play Morrowind and Oblivion without doing the MQ without any issues.

There are no disagreements there as it is forced on you, being the Boringborn almost from the start is one of the worst parts of the game especially when coming to the key element of Elder Scrolls games, re-playability. However with some imagination and simply avoiding Jarl Balgruuf it is entirely possible not to be the LDB as there is so much to Skyrim besides the main, or any of the major questlines, and the Dragon thing may have just been a one off affair if you roleplay that way.
