Playing on PC with a game controller

Post » Tue Oct 28, 2014 4:56 am

Hey all-

I have a logitech game controller called the F710 that I can't get working.

I figured out how to go into the game and modify the button assignments to the buttons on the controller as well as having the left joystick assigned to walking front back left and right.

This leaves me with the right joystick previously utilized by the mouse being unassigned to any paricular action.

Does anyone know how to program the left joystick of a wireless game controller by logitech to operate controlling the xy axis of "look around" in Oblivion?

If so, I can really use your insight.

Thanks alot,

Miuirkheal

Getting a game controller to work on this game is tricky. The issue you are running into is the anolog stick does not work with the game, very well.

Do you have a Xbox Controller? That would work better. The wireless Xbox controllers have their own issues (it's an issue with the IR Receiver drivers so a driver package usually sorts this), so a wired one is your best bet.

This might help you to get your Logitech controller to work as others have gotten the Logitech to work after fiddling with it enough.

I've found a thread from a long time ago between demonofdeath and cochese which has helped me immensely. control MK has got my anolog stick working on the right hand side and I'm super stoked on being able to play with it. Was about to take this thread down but didn't want to leave you hanging.

Now that I get back into the gameplay I realize that I have to leave control MK open while I'm playing in order for it to take hold.

This is the old thread I'm talking about

however, the hotkey interactions keep interfering with being able to walk forward backward and side to side now.

I've heard some games like Skyrim have the option of using a X-Box 360 controller. It'll have an option in game settings to turn the controller on. But I just play Skyrim on my PS3 and its been a while since I've tried it on PC.
