Playing with more than 4 players...

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:49 am

This is something I havent noticed anybody saying about on the forums (yes did a search and gave up after 5 pages).

If you try to join a game with a party of more than 4 and there is only one or two other people in the game the game will give the voting 5 seconds (rather than the usual 40) and the game countdown 5 seconds and then it will split your party up instead of waiting for the game to fill up.

Being part of a community with alot of players to play with even the game being limited to 6 v 6 is enough without finally getting 6 players together only to have the game put us on opposite teams.

It was only apparent yesterday because I linked up with a few guys from the forums Red samurai, Blondbassist (although I think he enjoyed punching me in the face lol), Wa1ka and it was almost impossible to get a game with us on the same team due to the count down starting without recognising we are all in a party.

For the solo player its fine, But for the social player its a nightmare.

What is up with this Crytek?

Yeah there was 6 of us and 3 of us had really good connections so we could connect easily.

Even stranger was the fact that we barely pulled host at all.

It happens the first game you party up then sorts itself out after one map. Hardly the end of the world. Just play one map against each other, have a laugh, stay in the room and next map all is sorted.

When it does it consistently like every time we go into a match and considering when people get beat they leave the game or rage quit which crashes the server and we restart the process over again so unless we keep constantly backing out we end up playing our friends list more than other people and I dont know about you but when I have a friends list my idea is to be allied with them, not against them.

It only happens the first time (and if you join a room with less than double your players. Stop jumping in and out of lobbies. Stay in one lobby and you will be on the same team. We always play with groups and it only affects the first match if you have more than half the lobby in your party.

People on this forum are fist to wall frustrating......

We DO stay in lobbies, Lobbies Crash when people leave and it says "migrating session" we are not manually leaving lobbies we are going into lobbies and people leave and they crash because the host rage quits.

I understand it only affects the first match but when your kicked out becauser the lobby crashes due to people leaving we need to search for another game and that game repeats the process all over again.

Wow your ready to punch a wall because I tried to help you. Take some meds, now I understand why this little issue has you so worked up. Not sure why your lobbies are crashing all the time or people are quitting.

Once my party are in a game nine times out of ten we are all set until we decide to play a different mode.

I am sure it will be patched anyway to stop the crashes so just chill, you're only gonna upset yourself with that attitude.

You took that literally? sorry your just not on the same wavelength here. Im not going to literally punch a wall you spastic haha! im just saying its frustrating because its like your not even reading what ive said, YES I know leaving a lobby ends the game, thats painfully obvious. What im saying is I end up playing against my friends because after 1 game they quit and we start the search process all over again.

Maybe the numbers for this game are dropping so much that its hard to get a game going in any game type.

When my party is in a game we often win our games consistently so the other team rage quits all the time and it goes to host migration and crashes the lobby, the lobby also crashes if there is not enough people on the other team

same here, party system is def broken since the 31st patch. party splits up(play against each other), goes to different games/lobbies, gets kicked back to frontend, game starts without full game etc.

Pretty much and then with a party of 6 your back to square one playing against each other unless 5 people join in the space of 5 seconds which is highly unlikely.

I've had a group of 6 of us. The matchmaking always split the group up for the first game after leaving the lobby to get us into a game quickly and then every subsequent game we were all playing together no problem...except with the constant host selection/favoritism and poor lag of course.

I've never noticed an issue with the vote timer however. But then again I like all the maps, and the only problem I have is with the predictability of the map rotation. It needs to be much more random.

stryker,
for the squad games i am in, sometimes timer is none existent and we just go into the next game(mostly on same team with squad). hmm and yea the map rotation is broke-having a random option would be nice.

People must not rage quit on you often then because every game I play somebody on the opposite team rage quits and they ALWAYS get host so it crashed the game because host migration doesnt work and we are back to square 1.

Its a joke.

Most the time one of the six of us are host, but we still get sh1tty lag. And we're all in the same geographical region to boot. Well at least the 6 of us in my squad are in the same region. I can't say for the other 6 players the game matches us to, where they're located in relation to my squadmates.

I have had the same issue as you Sia, in regards to the map vote be non existent for time to time. It only happens rarely though.

My patience is starting to wear thin.

I agree with KR4KKEN completely regarding the Host migrations that never migrate, splitting up of parties etc

The "Retrieving Session Details" never-ending load screen, the randomly kicking you out of a full game lobby back into an empty lobby just before entering a game. The picking of bad hosts, the "could not connect to host" message when trying to join a session in progress (this is when my friend says the game is not full), the constant crashes when entering into a new game forcing a dashboard or for me to restart my Xbox. The Matchmaking in this game is terrible. With all these issues together it takes almost as much time between game to get into a match than it is to play them, and when you do 1/3 of them Host Migrate's and hits you back to the start, the circle starts again.

It's getting on my f*****g nerves!

It's not my Xbox 360, I have the Slim 250gb, I bought mid-last year and works perfectly for every other game I have. Even Fallout New Vegas doesn't crash as much as this.
