I dont like using potions..restoration is one of my must use skills..I prefer to RP a paladin, since my first skyrim character will be an ancestor of my oblivion character who was one.

As a Breton, I will never shun the natural talents of my people. I embrace magic and use it to my advantage.

I use shield spells instead of armour; I use unlock spells instead of lockpicking. I can quickly heal myself and others when injured. I can detect the enemy before they can detect me.

To all who do not wish to use magic, I respect your choice, and hope you enjoy your adventures in Skyrim.

Maybe for the third playthrough I'll roleplay a nord Barbarian, who doesn't use any magic whatsoever. For my first playthrough though it looks too good to ignore. Experimentation awaits.

I will never understand why anyone would play a TES game and not use magic to some degree... Even if you RP as an inbred warrior type with a dunse hat and runny nose or something stupid like that.

Magic is like... More than half the game, and pretty much ALL the games lore. If you dont like magic or its use, your playing the wrong game.
Mayhaps you got confused on your way to buy the brand spanking new >Insert repetitive CoD game here<

I might try it on a later play through but assassin's use what ever means necessary and magic is certainly useful, would definitely be a good change of pace later on.

.......... Such a well thought out insult to anyone that doesn't play the game the way you think its meant to. http://www.gamesaktuell.de/imgserver/communityimages/691x518/2011/04/Bravo_clap.gif

I'll play largely without magic with my thief/assassin, but I guess some Illusion will come in handy...

My 3rd character, who is ironically an Altmer, will probably work without magic whatsoever. I don't see the problem with that.

Most likely no. Even on my Rogue character I'll still be using alchemy and maybe a few basic illusion spells. I doubt I could do without magic entirely.

I mostly play a Mage for my main character but I always make a non magic character too. I really want to see how far I can go in Skyrim with muscle alone.

I accept the challenge. I think I will even mod a cursed collar which drains magica and cant be removed, only unlocks on the full moon..

Me. I often play warrior characters who, while skilled at most arts, have no clue about spellcraft.

I did that in Oblivion, unless you count enchanted items as magic.
I only used a bow and arrow and didn't bother with blade or blunt.
Although I like how magic looks this time around so I'll probably try and mix things up.

For my first character I'll only focus on stealth, so probably no magic on my first playthrough.

I'm considering not using the shouts because some of them seem decently overpowered (I know there's one that shows you the way out of a dungeon for example, I'm thinking I'll only use that if I've tried to get out for 40 minutes and still can't), but that's entirely non-specific at the moment until I actually have a go at the game. I might add conditions like, only use them against dragons or as an absolute last resort.. who knows. As for general magic, no use of restoration at all seems like one hell of a grind to me.

I'm not a big fan of magic although i'll use it a lot more since the spells look really cool. I'll start of as my usual badass melee warior with his own healing spell :P.

Most of my characters tend to be "pure" classes. It makes the game seem much different on each playthrough. So yes, I tend to have a lot of characters who use no magic. I will probably have a LOT more this time since mages seem to have had a lot of "steamlining" while other classes got some nice attention in the development oven.

@IDF_CaliBeR

That spell is called "Clairvoyance" according to the Toddtalk during presentation, not a shout.

My main rp character in both Morrowind and Oblivion cast nary a spell.

So, I salute you Sir in your endeavor to abstain from the corrupting practices of the foul demon magic. :icecream:

So you prefer angel magic?
