Its obvious that the anonymous are friends of Geohotz and they probably used his site. The court gave Sony access to all the IPs that visit his site.

Are you aware that George Hotz condemned the people who were attacking PSN?

Are you also aware that any sensible person who gained entry to a secure system would obviously leave evidence pointing towards the most prolific group right now, simply to cover themselves?

Nope. I imagine when(or if) Sony comes up with an actual date, it will be in the news and shortly after posted here. which is why I keep checking in on this thread....

c'mon Sony.... I don't wanna have to go buy an xbox....

Has anyone seen how much Sony is losing over this? apparently they've taken quite the hit(financially). if it turns out there actually was CC/bank data stolen to be used fraudulently, then this could very well be the beginning of the end for PSN. although I sure as hell hope not.

I'm curious to see what the sales figures look like since the PSN what down. I have a friend who bought a PS3 last week even with it down though.

there's some articles about it, that's how I found out they were taking a financial loss since the network went down. but TBH, I think it would take a LOT of identity theft cases to run PS bankrupt, considering they offered to pay for credit checks or whatever it was.

That and they're so egotistical that they would have claimed credit.

Really not sure if I intend to ever plug that cable back in the modem slot, even with SOEs "I'm sorry" offering.

Don't you just love that of all the threads that have been started about this topic our main thread is titled:

Playstation Network is back up in Japan

North America coming soon. (likely tomorrow)

Oh the irony.

Yeah I apologise about that title, but at the time I thought it was accurate. See for me it isnt that its down, its that Sony is being strange as all hell about it.

Well Anonymous has released another statement saying they have never been involved with credit/debit theft and that they are being framed. They released a pretty long statement, here's the end of it...

"Anonymous will continue its work in support of transparency and individual liberty; our adversaries will continue their work in support of secrecy and control. The FBI will continue to investigate us for crimes of civil disobediance while continuing to ignore the crimes planned by major corporations with which they are in league. We do not forget, even if others fail to remember. We not forgive, even if others forgive our enemies for those things for which we are attacked. We are legion, and will remain so no matter how many of our participants are raided by armed agents of a broken system.

We are Anonymous."

The plot thickens...

Ha . No apologies needed Zakarius. I believe when you created this thread that was the BS that Sony was spoon feeding us at the moment.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again: I'm not that mad about the network going down, I'm mad at the fact that sony has handled this so poorly in the PR department. I feel like a dis-informed consumer.

I just got a PS3 and I finally know what everyone is feeling like. I haven't even got to play it yet, and I want to start tearing things up online! actually its more like getting shot from behind by everybody because I svck... and I have to start learning the feel of the PS3 controller. and i just svck....

but I am not thinking it is going to be back online for awhile. there has been no new updates.

I lol'd.

My friend is quite aggravated about PSN being down and not being able to play COD4, or Black Ops, I can't remember which. So to take his mind off it, I got him into playing Diablo 2. Now he keeps talking about his necromancer. And his gf is not happy with me about it.

Well, that's only if you used a credit card. I personally prefer using those pre-paid code cards (close one), so I would think I'm immune to the compromization of credit card information simply because I never used a credit card over the PSN, but yeah, the situation svcks, in my opinion.

Where do you get those, like what store, I have looked practically everywhere adn cannot find them.

So PSN was supposed go live today and not only did it not, but Sony hasn't said anything?

Today is not over.

I really dunno what people are talking about when they say that. SOme say Xbox controllers have a better feel, some say PS3 has a better feel, some say they handle differently, for me they feel exactly the same.
