A Plea for a Road

I have enjoyed Mr Silka's Griffon Fortress for years now, but it has no road to the main road. Can or would ...someone..... who is creative, knows the CS and has a evening, make a road for us from the nearest road to the fortress? it might need a bridge along the way but it would not need to be huge. Just a road. It would really be nice, for those of us who like to travel via horse or foot.

I need to get familiarized with the mod as I do not use it - plus I want to play Oblivion sometimes too, not just mod it :P

wow, wow wow THANK YOU ...both :) :)

i am so excited.

I have thought about this for ...months....maybe even years but i was afraid to try myself and even more afraid to ask.. well i had to get a new computer and reinstall OB and i thought wow, maybe some kind soul will help with this.. I also was afraid to descerate the beautiful landscape near the castle so i hope we can do a road with out making a superhighway...but really it would be so wonderful to have a raod to the castle and thus connect this, one of the most amazing player homes yet...to the rest of the OB world, maybe even the travelling merchants would come to call.

i am so excited by this, i wont be able to sleep.

you are both wonderful and i am so appreciative, no hurry no hurry at all,

and i must say my horse Max will be happy to not have to run cross country lilke i make him to get to and fro from his stable at the Castle :)

er...you want a road NPCs will travel on?
Thats out of my league, and I hope you didn't want the road to show up on the world map, cause that would require me to make a completely separate map.

I mean, adding a road takes less than 5 minutes (so long as any grass textures want to cooperate with you), but I am not sure how to add a path for NPCs to travel on.

Nice place. I'll have to check it out. I might be able to make a traveling merchant for you, maybe he'll have a little camp area somewhere close. I can put it on the world map as well.

wow again

it is NOT necessary for NPCs to come.... i was just dreaming.

just a road, and i wanted to say...get the castle itself but also look for the update on Texnexus...there was a bug when Mr S made the castle and the ARgonians lost their voices and grew beards :) the update fixes that...i fixed mine with the tools.

i am very touched. and no the road does NOT need to be on the map, just a connection to the nearest road.... and a reasonable route to the castle.

I just did not konw how ...and am still afraid of the CS .

thanks again.... means a lot to me. and my horse. :)

I see what you mean about the road now. I was going to call you crazy, since there was a road... but yeah... it just ends in the middle of nowhere, near an ogre, no less.

I do not find this project necessary for collaboration :shrug: I mean sure it would be great, but it's just a road :laugh:
Ofcourse, when CrisG9 refered to a merchant walking up to the castle, I thought he meant altering an existing NPCs path to go up to the castle. But sure, I can create a new NPC with the AI to do so, thats not that hard either.

I don't want to take all the credit here. I do not mind handing you, Swiftblade, the project if you would prefer. I don't imagine this project taking too long anyways. maybe 20 minutes out of my non-eventful days.

you guys are awesome, i went to sleep thinking about this and woke up thinking about it. It is magical what you people who know how ...can transform our world in OB. Two places have been magical for me..this amazing castle which is one of the most authentic to real life castles of any and the most detailed and amazing in the interior detail..... he discussed a quest and there are some NPCs in there but they onlly stand in one place ..the guards and the huntslman... i think the update has a smith...and i had dreamed of a road and then of making NPCs with daily schedules ..like servants and such....

you two are making the road a possibility and that really means a lot.

and then i had hopes of bringing another of my special places, the Monastary of Eru, to life with some NPCs as it is very lonely there too. But as i said, i am afraid of the CS and really have just kept my hopes inside and kept enjoying this wonderful amazing world we have in Oblivion.

Btw, i love Camp Simpllicty that is a lovely place to visit

well thank you. Anyways, making a few AI packages isn;t too hard in the CS. Plop down a few NPCs, set their AI to do what at what time, and then in game they'll go about their business now.
(that generally how it goes, there is a little bit more to it than that.)

OK, i will peek at the CS to see about doing some ppls for the Castle and the Monastary.

:) well ...i really was shy to ask about this, ...and any sort of small road will be fine, just to help us get to and from the lovely castle. And as i said, no rush, just the idea means a lot.
