Before you finish that argument, let me just throw something in there.

On my first playthrough, I found the Plasma Caster on the Silver Rush desk and didn't find any other.
On my second playthrough, I found that one, but Silver Rush began selling Plasma Casters everytime I waited three days. I ended up with like 5.

So in other words, for some people, it's unique (due to bugs, I have a buggy Silver Rush inventory on my first playthrough), for others it's not.

Also, my favorite unique weapon is the Mysterious Magnum.

About your Plasma Caster argument...
There are actually 2 in the game. I won't tell you where. But siding with Arcade and doing his bidding may lead to the actual reveal of the 2nd plasma caster.

Just like the Ranger Seqouia, You can get an unlimited supply of them, But only from one source.

It's not Unique at all if it's mass-produced. If there was one, it would be unique. If there were two or three, it would be semi-unique. If there are infinite, but only available in one place, then it's not unique, but only available in one place. And no, the Sequoia isn't semi-rare either. You can get them infinitely if you know where to look.

Silver Rush and Hidden Valley both sell them. The Gatling Laser is only sold at Hidden Valley (as far as I can tell) but it isn't in any way a "unique" weapon. I don't even refer to them as "unique" I call them "named". The plasma caster isn't "unique" or "named"...I have found them (ok one) as loot in one of the containers in vault 34 and I stole one from the Silver Rush and I bought one from Hidden Valley.
