Please add larger native resolutions (3840 x 720, 5760 x 108

I hate having to find a fix or something to try and get a game to span over 3 monitors properly and i know other people do as well.

The game looks gorgeous so far n would even more insane if it fits 3 1920 x 1080 monitors properly without being all stretched and squashed. :celebration:

Implementation of such things would have to be valued based on questions like: How much money would it cost to implement it? How many would actually benefit from it? What could the time required for this to be implemented be used on instead that more people benefit from?

I personally doubt the answers of these questions would be positive in connection to this thread.

@ TheFriendlyBear: Sorry bro you can't unfortunately, u can have this instead :icecream:

@ hlvr: The cost and benefit is on/ for the people that have multi monitor set ups. (!-From my knowledge-!) All the devs have to do is allow the FOV (field of view) to fit the sizes of the native resolutions, because thats what i have to do with other games.
Just like if you move your mouse you can see more to the left and right, it just allows people to see more of the gaming world.

So on short NO it should not be hard to implement into the game :)

its one of these things i like to call "finishing touch" you know... when they finish the game pretty much and add all the features they plan, and stop its development and start doing beta and debugging and all that, then they should start adding things like this, and 3D and you know blah blah blah.

Yeah totally agree, i know not a HUGE amount of people are asking for it but it would be nice instead of having to get a 3rd party program running in the background

In regards to 3D they dont really have to do anything 3D Vision will just simulate it, FPS MAY DROP  , but it will be a gripping and gorgeous game either way :mohawk:

Wouldn't that have to be a design decision from the outset(?), and considered when making the textures?
I mean... if the textures were made with the assumed maximum res in mind... and if the game were were later made (or forced) into a larger resolution ~wouldn't that mean that the textures would get interpolated up close?

No, i dont think so. The resolution of the textures they use for different things are for the quality of what they want to replicate, nothing due to the size of peoples monitors.

I just basically want to enlarge my area of viewing not get higher resolution textures.

if you looked to the left on a 1920x1080 screen then move the camera the right for another 19x108 screen and then once again.. If thats the way your thinking of it, if you have a standard 1920 x 1080 monitor i should be fine.

It would be really cool to play skyrim in 5760x1080/1200. The only reason I'm not really a fan of multi-monitor gaming yet is that there aren't any affordable ultra-thin bezel monitors that I know of. I just cant stand to have two thick lines down the screen. Once they make inexpensive monitors that have bezels of a few millimeters or so I'll definitely go for it.

Anyway, I really don't think it would be too much to implement. I don't think the textures would need to be increased, as the game will probably support up to 2560x1600 for a single monitor. And my understanding of 3 monitor setups is that they're not for seeing things in more detail, they're just for having a wider FOV.

I suddenly had the silly vision of what it would look like if you combined multi-screen resolution with that other idea some people had been throwing around - having helmets block your view. One middle screen with a bit of the view blocked at the corners..... and the two side screens completely black.

(Actually, that makes me wonder - are there any multi-screen-enabled FPSes? And if so, what do they do when you zoom in a sniper scope.... black out the side screens? /ponder)

Not quite sure how scoping works. Anyway like I said I've never actually done it because of the bezel issue. Makes some amazing screenshots though. The fallout 3 picture does the 3 monitor setup the best IMO: hud/gun/hands/all visible pc parts on the middle monitor, then the other monitors just extend the FOV. Then again most of these were not actually made to support three monitors, and it's basically handled through the graphics card. Idk about the FO3 one though, it seems like that would have to be built-in support or a HUD mod.

If the raw texture is 768 pixels high, but the monitor setting is 1200 pixels high.... if you view the textured object (say... a wall) such that it extends past the top and bottom of the screen, then the texture must be stretched to fit right? The number of pixels from top to bottom exceeds the number of pixels in the original art.

Do not think this would be any problem at all as long as the graphic card is showing it as one display and not three, the game has to adjust to all sort of resolutions, the old square 1240x1204 standard widescreen 1920*1080, 1920*1200 on some monitors even odd laptop formats so it's just have to recognise it as a format and adjust to it.

Most games made these days support 1920 X 1080. It's not a concern.
