Please Bethesda and Obsidian

Post » Sun May 23, 2010 6:44 pm

I look forward to the next few DLC's greatly, but I think I speak for many when I ask:

Could you please make the Legate Armour and Helmet available for use by players? And could you make it so that it doesn't disguise you as a member of Caesars Legion? It is one of the best looking armours in the game, and I think many people would love to be able to walk around the Mojave in such an awesome suit of armour, especially if you can wear it anywhere without being attacked for looking like a member of Caesar's Legion.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to introduce that into an upcoming DLC, and I believe many of us would appreciate it.

For any of those reading this who agree, respond to this letter along the lines of "I agree", and hopefully, we can make it available for use.

Thankyou

P.S I know you can get it by using codes, but that's only for PC. This letter is on behalf of console gamers.

It's not a petition. It's voicing an opinion. And I ask others reading this if they agree with me. I'm not asking for a tally of how many agree. I want to see if others agree with me.

Fair enough, i dont see how we could get it, perhaps from the Burned Man if we meet him in a future DLC.

Well there are other DLCs coming out later. Honest Hearts is next, then afterwards there is Old World Blues, and the Lonesome Road. Also they can do it in a patch in the way that they increased the damage of some weapons, the range of dynamite, or the shooting speed of some guns in the most recent patch.

Legates Armour is already in the game, they just have to make it available. I say in a DLC, because even if they make it available now, you would only have it briefly, because the game ends soon after you get it. Meaning it would be best to make it available in a DLC that continues the story after the Battle at Hoover Dam.

I second the op notion. I told him I d hang his mask on my trophy wall. ( Before he killed me like 15 times in a row my first play through ) I want his sword too.

There will not ever be a DLC to continue past the ending, and there is no way to get his armor and go back, so it will have to be armor from someone else in a DLC, like i said, perhaps we will meet Graham in a future DLC, and if we help him or something, he will give us his old Legate armor.

Maybe. But that doesn't explain how during the final mission, there is a bug where you can talk to Colonel Moore, where you can speak to her and discuss what happened. She has post-game information, which makes me believe there will be a 'Broken Steel' style DLC which continues the game. Especially considering there is another Courier...

that is cut content, ya see, they were going to make post-end gameplay, and got a little into the NCR, but saw it would take much longer than they had time, and cut it.

How about if you kill Caesar (normally or during Et Tumor, Brute), Lanius takes his place at the Fort? Then, you can go and kill him and take his stuff. This could impact the ending greatly, with all non-CL players having a much easier Dam battle, due to there being no leader. I would also like the option to meet Oliver before the Hoover Dam Battle.

Why would we go to the Fort? He is a field commander who is busy....commanding things on the field.

Lanius doesnt even arrive until right before the Battle, and the Battle starts right when he arrives.

That was just one of the post-game lines for one of the endings  it was cut for the reasons why post-game gameplay is a bad idea.

Because he is Caesar's successor. He becomes the new Caesar after the original dies, so it's only natural for him to take up the leading position at the Fort.

Lanius doesnt even arrive until right before the Battle, and the Battle starts right when he arrives.

Can you prove this? I'm not questioning you, but I thought he was at the Legate's Camp preparing for the Battle.
Oh, and another thing: if you kill all the major CL leaders, the ending slides should show how the Legion began to crumble with no leader, no organization, and no unity (more deserters, slave revolts, etc.).

If you are on the Legion side, when you are about to go into the Battle, Caesar (or Lucius if Caesar is ded) will tell you that Lanius draws near, they are all set up to go for the Dam again, just waiting on Lanius to arrive to lead it.

@Rook I cant argue with bias of that magnitude, i mean, we dont know what the real ending is until the next game tells us.

One line of content does not =/= canon ending.

For example, many people argue that independent vegas (House OR Yes Man) is the canon ending because of what Yes Man says at the end. This isn't the Spoiler section so I won't go into detail, but basically Yes Man's ending sets things up in a way where Obsidian wouldn't have to reveal/decide which one of those two was the canon ending.

Can we just get back to the main topic of this post? I think it would be awesome if we got to keep the Legates armour and are able to wear it without becoming dressed as a member of Caesars legion. And i'm hoping many agree with me.

I wouldn't call it 'proof'. It does however shine a little ray of hope for those that would like to continue past the dam battle.

As for you Mako if it were cut content it wouldn't be in the game. Now considering that there are many 'many' oversights in this game I wouldn't put too much weight behind it actually meaning anything.
I also wouldn't close my eyes, cover my ears and shout la la la there won't be anything post ending.

Not saying thats what you did, but I'll be honest. Thats kind of how I've started picturing some of these people who just show up and say 'No!" whenever its mentioned now.

To let you know, none of the upcoming DLCs will allow you to play beyond the main quest (for the http://www.1up.com/news/fallout-new-vegas-definitive-ending noted by the developers prior to the game's release).

there was a time in development that you COULD play past the final mission. but they decided that that would take away from the impact of the ending. so they cut it. and what you found is a remnant of that old Play past the ending code.

I very much doubt that any amount of begging is going to net you Lanius' gear. My suggestion? Forget about it and move on.

As to post-game play via DLC? Well, I saw the link to Moore's entry on the Wiki and all I can say is: I really hope we don't see any add-on that lets us play after the battle at Hoover Dam. I really, really hope we don't.
