There are 200+ voice actors in the game they read our comments on it about repeat actors.

Yeah they hired Patrick Stewart to do about twenty lines of dialogue for OB, what a waste of money.

I'd rather see a large variation of voice actors than a couple of well know voice actors.

Cite please? I heard about "more voice actors", but heard nothing about 200+ VAs.

I do hope the Argonian and Khajit actors from Oblivion come back, I don't hope that they're the only ones doing the voices for those races, but I do think their voices were fun in Oblivion. :D

The Argonian and Khajiit voices were exactly the same.

What bothers me so much isn't the number of voice actors from Oblivion is that they weren't very talented at all, it was the same voice every. freaking. time. If they had some talented actors that could do more than one voice it'd be another story.

this has been a pretty big topic on most wish lists. I've seen it mentioned since the reviews of Oblivion, that the games needed a larger voice cast. So I'm not too worried.

i kinda hope, if they make the dragons talk, one of them should be sean connery... i mean, look at dragonheart!

that was a good movie, and connery did a great job with draco. :P

i wonder what voice actors they'll be getting...

I don't see why they wouldn't have dozens and dozens, just get cheap (as in talented, but not famous) talent in to do many variations of all the lines that will be heard repeatedly (for guards and all that) so that you aren't stuck hearing the same voices.

I'm very inclined to agree with you; it would have been really nice to hear at least a little diversity from the same voice actor. I will at least say that the male nord/orc voice and male argonian/khajiit voice were actually the same guy, so I'll give him props for that.

I don't think the Oblivion voice actors were bad at all, it's just that each race only had one voice actor and it became boring real soon.

Personally, I would prefer the money and time spent on voice acting to be spent on making a bigger game world. I can read just fine, and well written text is just as engaging as well written dialog. Plus it makes it considerably easier for the modders to create new quests and even storylines.

The people who record voices are not involved in the world design process, storyboarding process, gameplay mechanics, dialog, or anything at all apart from voiceover work. So having more voice actors does not affect the amount of time or energy that can go into the development.

I loled... pretty irritating when people assume small things like a few more voice actors dont make a difference after 200 hours of playtime

I would like to compare how voices were done in Morrowind and Oblivion, and then please add some more to the best of both worlds in Skyrim.

First of all please bring back Morrowind style name conventions, so that we could have TES exotic Altmer, instead of plain old common RPG high elves.

  • Male Nord: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Female Nord: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Male Orc=Male Nord? Bad decision: Should be more growlier. Morrowind tried to make it so, but should change it altogether.
  • Female Orc=Female Nord? Can you compare their face and mouths? The same? Please change it. Morrowind got it better..
  • Male Dunmer: Perfect in Morrowind. Much better than male Dunmer soft voiced sissies in Oblivion.
  • Female Dunmer: not good in Morrowind and Oblivion, we could make very s*xy Dunmer female faces, but the voices just ruined it. Something husky should do it.
  • Male Altmer: Perfect in Morrowind. Much better than Oblivion's male Altmer/Dunmer/Bosmer common voice. Those Morrowind Altmers just had a class of their own.
  • Female Altmer: Not good in Oblivion. Morrowind's was better, but please take a hint from male Altmers of Morrowind, and make them proud.
  • Male Bosmer: Good in Morrowind. Went well with those pointy sharp faces of Morrowind Bosmers, and bring those faces back as well.
  • Female Bosmer: Good in Morrowind. Should be thin and dainty, hopefully like their faces. I just hated those square jaws in Oblivion.
  • Male Breton: Perfect in Morrowind.
  • Female Breton, Perfect in Morrowind.
  • Male Imperial: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Female Imperial: Good in Oblivion. Perfect in Morrowind.
  • Male Redguard: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Female Redguard: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Male Argonian:Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion.
  • Female Argonian: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion, although a little bit different from each other. Both should be in.
  • Khajeet Male: Perfect in Morrowind/Oblivion, although it is shared with Argonian, and should be altered a bit.
  • Khajeet Female: Perfect in Morrowind, like males, they should be a bit different from Argonian voices.
  • Dwemer: Perfect in Morrowind. Bring them back?

And when I said perfect in those voices, I meant for their time, but there should be more variety for each race, especially for Nords, as they are the majority in Skyrim. Do you want to hear the same voices again and again?

I think the voices should be selected for the faces, so we could have younger/older voices, that might be shared between different races, if matched the faces.

I think it's great news, although Oblivion originally had a lot more voices and then cut it down to just a few for unexplained reasons. I hope that doesn't happen with Skyrim.

I also hope they keep some of the previous actors though. I heart the gravelly, chain-smoker Argonian voices. I rather like that female elf voice, and Wes Johnson is just awesome really.

Don't much care who voices it, but if I don't hear a dragon say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qC2P7QYjaE&t=91 ... I will be very sad. :(
