Please Bethesda, use more voice actors...

Post » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:10 pm

Please tell me that there are more (varied) voice actors this time round.

And bring back the creepy Dunmer/Argonian/Khajiit voices from Morrowind, I loved the hissing Argonians, the gravely voice of the Dunmer and the growling Khajiit.

Bonus points for having Max Von Sydow though :)

I think I read in the GI article that there is indeed a greater cast of voice actors... so that's pretty much confirmation. :)

Yeah, I don't think you can ever get rid of voice repetition but Oblivion really did have a far too limited number of voice actors.

Hopefully they've invested in some more voice actors, and have more unique voices too (besides Max Von Sydow).

In case you completely missed what Valkry just said...
YES, the magazine article confirms that they used more voice actors... meaning more variety.

Jeff Baker did the Dunmer voice. He also did work in Fallout 3, so he's still around. ( Bring him back! )

I was watching Oblivion E3 demo videos earlier and noticed he voiced the Dunmer in the city demonstration.

Wonder why it was pulled.

Nope. The voice in the teaser is Swedish actor, Max Von Sydow:

If I look at how far they let Obsidian go, I'm very sure they can do the same thing themselves. Most of all, get Wonder Woman back. She's family! Literally!

I do hope the Argonian and Khajit actors from Oblivion come back, I don't hope that they're the only ones doing the voices for those races, but I do think their voices were fun in Oblivion. :D

Was just about to say this (minus the kitten part). MW Dunmer sounded really cool.

Well Oblivion used the same system that Morrowind did for voice acting, one person for each race/gender combination.

They sounded like they svcked up too much Red Mountain ash... Though cool it did sound at times.

I really hope the use some of the voice actors from Oblivion in Skyrim, though. I want female and male Argonian voice actors back, I really liked their voices hehe.

Personally, I would prefer the money and time spent on voice acting to be spent on making a bigger game world. I can read just fine, and well written text is just as engaging as well written dialog. Plus it makes it considerably easier for the modders to create new quests and even storylines.

I rather here different voices than run into 5 people with the same actor.
