please bring back the dwarves!

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 10:26 am

The dwemer have been confirmed by word of god that they are the mother [censored] Numidium, the giant robot golem thing that regularly kicks Akatosh in the balls, and is at all points in time. Bringing them back would be the lamest thing ever. Any return of the dwemer would mean the Numidium is knocking at your door, ready to kick your ass for daring to think such thoughts.

Also, they were as tall as the Imperials, and http://images.uesp.net/d/d6/Dwarven_Spectre.jpg http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/13830/794102-dwemer_z_statue4_large.jpg http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/tdgtd_dwemer_image_01.jpg with long ears than anything

Word of God? I never saw that. I thought the "divine skin" thing was just reigning fan theory.

Maybe they're brought back as the tools of Alduin to destory the other Mer and Humans!!!

...i thought that was the dragons' job?

seriously, people... you cant just throw in ideas that dont make any sense.

as interesting as the dwemer are, they're one of the BIGGEST mysteries in TES... if they take that mystery away, we'll have alot less to talk about.

if they ever do come back, i'd rather wait until bethesda has the time to dedicate a whole sequel to their return, not just throw it in as an expansion for skyrim or whatever.

what do you want... a few-hour long quest that makes the dwemer's return nothing all that grand, or wait until someday when an entire game can be devoted to it?

also, they'd need another huge mystery to replace the mystery of the dwemer with, otherwise we'd be losing more than we gain, i think.

It would depend HUGELY on what is going on. But I'm inclined to agree.

I think people just want a psuedo LoTR...

I don't think 'wiped out' is correct, more like 'missing'

Actually, I believe they were wiped off the face of the earth. Something about them pissing off the gods when using the heart.

It just so happens that 'this is what happened' was all the dwemer did, indeed, become the golden skin of the Numidium, save for Yagrum.

This was during when the forums were ancient (sometime after Morrowind). I believe the quote is buried very deep in the lore section, but I've lost it twice now.

Also, the final report to Treb wasn't the WoG moment, a dev did literally go on the forum and spilled the beans.

Nobody really knows exactly what happened to the dwarves (I love how mysterious, ambiguous, and conflicted TES's historical accounts are). Either way, you've got TEN RACES. For crying out loud, thats more than most games give you. Just pick one.

Regardless, "Final Report to Trebonius" is officially what happened. Cool. I always thought the entire race zero-summed out.

I wish I could dig up the quote...well no I don't, as I dig up enough stuff for people as is, but last I found it, if I remember correctly, it was a quote from MK of a quote from a previous dev, when both were devs at the time.

To summaries, it pretty much said, "The dwemer were absorbed into the Numidium. Now stop asking this question, we've answered it too much already."

It'd be good if there was somewhere this could be made clear in the actual game.

Oh, but they are. At least judging from the dwemer ghosts in Morrowind, they were shorter than the bosmer(very small), making them dwarves.

The Dwemer were about the same height as humans.
