please bring back the dwarves!

The Dwarves are Elves that are a lot like Gnomes in other typical storylines. I think I said that right :)

It would definitely be a cool addition

They'd surely have:

- strong stamina and health
- very little Magic ability
- excellent axe wielding ability

Sounds cool!

NO

those aren't generic dwarves.
Those are actualy elves called "dwarves" by the mouthes of the giants who saw them that way.

They are good at alchemy and engineering. I wouldn't want them to return since it means technology will come along as-well. And I hate high-tec in fantasy games.

Yeah I've read the lore around Dwemer, will everyone get off their high horse?

Why wouldn't they at least have some relevance to generic dwarves? Fine they could have some specific differences, but come off it, look with they've done with Orcs (Orismir)

The Orcs are elves, are you telling me they haven't reverted to type with them?

The Dwarves are elves. They probally are the opposite of that.

Good Crafters (smithing, enchanting)
Above average magic ability
Weak constitution

As with my other post, does this also apply to Orcs, who are also related to Elves?

I suggested that because it's slightly different to some of the others - sure they could create a marginal variation on other Elves (rather than what is in my post closer to a redguard I suppose) but I thought that might be quite cool

Just my opinion

From texts ingame. The Dwemer are heavily implied to be engineers and mages.

Cool. I know they created the Anumidum etc., so I buy the heavy on smithying and enchanting I suppose

Just less around the destruction magic for me

They're not going to be in it anyway, so everyone might as well ignore me (which I think they are anyway)

The are like generic dwarves as they live in mountains and are fantastic crafters, the finest Tamriel has ever know.

But, if you examine there technology you find machines infused with advanced enchantments, these hints to them being gifted at magic.

Unless they found out how to bring back extinct races, it's not going to happen. Hell, we are more advanced, and the people of Earth can't bring back extinct species.

Not quite sure I follow that logic, we can't conjure beings from different planes of existence

Anyway, as I understand it where all their weapons and armor were there's now only ash. Just been reading up about it

Interesting

Can't see them coming back though. And yeah, I was blatantly wrong in my initial description

Dragons returning to Tamriel = ES V, obviously. It really isn't too far-fetched that a later title could involve the return of the Dwarves. Albeit very unlikely, I don't think you can rule it out.

What are dwarfes? There are no Dwarfes in the ES Lore.

Sorry, maybe you muddle up the Lore of Lord of the Rings and The Elder Scrolls.

No no. No Dwarfes for you.

What makes the dwemer so friggin cool and interesting is actually the fact that they're extinct. No one knows how they went, and no one will ever know.

That's why I'm really looking forward to explore more ruins in skyrim(which I actually just learned of from the info thread(didn't know they were confirmed)).

Oh, but they are. At least judging from the dwemer ghosts in Morrowind, they were shorter than the bosmer(very small), making them dwarves.

Ruins are back, but living dwarves (apart from Yagrum) would ruin TES.

Actually the dwemer were of average height, their name was from the giants.

They are the Anumidium (or its skin, anyway), add in the fact that the thing evidently went 'boom' at the end of Daggerfall, and that another reason we probably aren't going to see them again.

Why some people want every single fantasy game to have the same lore is beyond me.

I love dwarves in the lord of the rings and in the warhammer universe, but they just don't exist in ES, and that's fine, because it makes ES lore unique!

Would you like Argonians and Khajiit in the lord of the rings universe? Nope! Then stop asking for dwarves in ES!

You obviously didn't read my later posts - In the meantime however you can remove that patronising smiley from the end of yours

And what's wrong with wanting an extra race to play?

As it happens I can't see they'd add that much - they are, as has been pointed out by a million people already - Mer, and probably not hugely different from a mixture of the existing

Also, I agree their disappearance is quite cool

Happy as it is
