PLEASE ! change the design of dragons

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:17 am

Dragonslayer (1981) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ6v1xZdIS8 always reminded me of a wyvern, a nicely done wyvern, but non the less a wyvern.

I always thought the name "Vermithrax Pejorative" was one word too long. Together, of course, it's Latin for "the worm from Thrace that makes things worse." For one thing, "pejorative" is a word commonly used in modern English language, and two, "makes things worse" is not much of of a terrifying moniker. "Hey Steve, I heard you got a dragon as your roomate, how is that?" "Well...he makes things worse."

How about "The worm from Thrace that melts your face." Can someone translate that into Latin?

Some of the best dragons I've ever seen are from http://www.spawn.com/features/dragons/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kobR95IZSBs Some here as well,

In fact, as you see the dragons of Mac farlene all have a rigour anatomic.

Bodies with a certain harmony

Those of Skyrim not excel in my opinion in this.

I could care less for dragons but love how they look all war torn at the wings and such, they look like fear-some foes...the dragons you look like something from "How to Train Your Dragon"

There's more than 1 type of dragon in Skyrim, I highly doubt the dragon in the picture we saw was Alduin :)
I mean if you made all the dragons look god like then what would Alduin look like?

I expect to see Dragonlings, Wyverns, and Dragons (diffrent variations not just color and props but models/animations) oh and then there is Alduin.
They've been working on "Dragons" plural for 2 years now... Expect to see amazingness ;P

I think the dragons that they have shown in Skyrim are sixy, but so are the ones you posted. However, the Skyrim dragons are a lot rougher and meaner looking, rugged if you will, which fits the theme of Skyrim well. The dragons you posted are majestic and cute-faced, these look like dragons you could befriend and ride, the remind me of Saphira from Eragon a bit. They are cute and cuddly compared to the dragons in Skyrim.

Although I would like to see what the friendly dragon looks like. I hope there is a friendly dragon, at least one. I know there is a dragon-shout that you can use to call a dragon by name to aid you in battle, but how you go about obtaining this shout is a mystery.

This is my favorite Dragon of all time. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_T9n9y1_Lkfs/SkOOiMdTukI/AAAAAAAACjY/H3SurvidjDA/s1600/BigRed.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_T9n9y1_Lkfs/SkOPLU7XEYI/AAAAAAAACkA/hwXpVAKsPC4/s1600/AncientGreatWyrm_Red.jpg http://artorder.blogspot.com/2009/06/red-dragon.html

If Alduin looks anything like this I'll fall in love.

I, like I said, I did just a proposal, I do not pretend that change nothing.

If only there had first made partakers of their work, perhaps we could discuss, but since you say you are 2 years that we are working and games are made, then we can stop discussing it.

I tried

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no way in hell that Beth is going to change the design of the dragons, something that they've been working on for two years, 9 months before release.

Besides, they look good. :)

And those of Skyrim have all the "certain harmony" they need, in my opinion.

Considering we live in a world with the http://www.popsci.com/files/imagecache/article_image_large/articles/20050-72.jpg...how "probable" does something need to be? :D

Did anybody ever play Monster Hunter, cos the wyverns on there were terrifying when you started out and IMO looked great.

Kinda like the Skyrim dragons look
Admittedly not great quality but it was a psp game

Monster Hunter is the shiizzzz!!! One of the few games where facing a dragon filled me with a total sense of dread and terror.

I thought the dragons in his pics looked ok. The bodies were very simple but other than the larger wing spans i didnt see too much difference.

Creativity and artistic style should always overrule real world limitations in a fantasy setting.

Oh, and it is explained in the lore as has already been pointed out in this thread multiple times.

first of all, i can hardly understand half the crap you're saying...

second, all you tried to do was try to convince the entire community to like those generic anorexic flying snakes that you prefer over unique, awesome dragons that bethesda poured so much work into... just so bethesda would change everything about the dragons only 9 months from release... which was NEVER gonna happen no matter how many people whined, it'd require holding the game off for no good reason!

i really think its about time for this topic to be closed, because theres going to be dragon flames bursting from every corner of this thread before long...

if you want anorexic flying snakes, buy the PC version and mod them in, its as simple as that, i mean... you act like you have so much better knowledge of dragons and how they SHOULD look, so i assume you have the skill to mod your own dragons into skyrim?

i dont mean to sound so harsh, but i really am tired of these complaint threads that have to do with things we know only a small fraction of the full details about.

Not all dragons are reptiles, breathe fire, and can fly :) Infact most dragons (lol) are mythical with the exception of the real life Komodo Dragon, and yes there is Dragons that relate to the Komodo Dragon

BTW Platypus are awesome!!
Did you know?: The platypus sports fur like a mammal, paddles its duck feet like a bird and lays eggs in the manner of a reptile. (Also they have a poisonous claw/talon/nail/spike thingy majiggy and it injects the poison.)

"Dear Bethesda, please throw away years of work because I, personally, don't like the way it looks."

This is the most disrespectful post I've seen on this forum.

There is no universally agreed plural of "platypus" in the English language. Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus".
I've seen a lot of moose in my travels.

Edit:

First off, the majority would most likely disagree with you.
Second of all, just because you complain isn't going to make the devs completely redraw the dragons with only 9 months until release.

Moose? Like Goose?
I saw another moose yesterday, yep I've seen a lot of meese in my travels.

Seriously though if there is no official plural then I'm going have to go with Platypie. Just sounds better to me.

Simple emphasis. I could have just as easily italicized, bolded or wrapped them in quotes.
