This all of a sudden happened to me as well. It worked great when I got home from work, about 5:30pm BST (British Summer Time), and then I stopped to have some dinner around half 6, and I came back to play some more around half 8 tonight and now I can't log in. I tried restarting my PC and router, and I still can't log in.
I'm obviously online as I'm signed into Steam and I'm talking to friends. And I'm writing this forum post. And Bad Company 2 works, as I thought I'd check it out.
Like I thought this piece of crap of a game would do, I cant login anymore. I posted about 3 days ago that I managed to fix the login problem and played happily for a few days, now I am back to square one with this complete waste of 60 dollars.
As I said, before trying to log in the game, try to enter in the site login.gamespy.com , if the site's fine, check firewall, ports, rooter, antivirus, etc, etc...
Everything's fine this end, seeing as the game worked a couple of hours ago, nothing has changed apart from I stopped playing to have dinner and now I can't log back in again. No amount of PC or router restarting makes the slightest bit of difference.
It's like it's not even trying to log in, it comes up with the message telling me to check my network connectivity the instant I click login.
This is rather frustrating. I could put up with servers being a bit funny and unlocks not working so well, as at least I could still run around and have fun in the MP to some extent. Now I can't at all, which I can only describe as being "a bit ****."
Edit: Thought I'd try removing my Autoexec.cfg to see if Crytek were perhaps fiddling with things serverside and disabling the use of the cfgs. It was a long shot, and it failed hard, still doesn't let me log in.
I've checked everything, like I said, I fixed it a few days ago and was able to play. Now all of the sudden it doesnt work anymore, and none of my settings have changed do i dont know what the hell is up with this.
I'm with you ray4594, exactly the same issue. Worked earlier this evening, I stop to have dinner and when I come back it stops working. And still isn't working. Short of reinstalling the game I've tried everything I can think of. Even de-authorised the game and authorised again, no change.
Edit: And no, I'm not going to try reinstalling, downloading from Steam took long enough, I'm not going through that again unless absolutely necessary. I only get 3mbps here, so Crysis 2 took around 8-9hours to download...
Hi guys, I have the same bug message ... Crysis 2 MP demo was working fine, and now I just can play SP mode ... I just successed to play MP mode in the complete game one time, but my score hasn't been saved ...
Opened more ports, disabled anti virus and still nothing. I shouldnt have to be wasting my energy and time trying to fix something that I am entitled to because I payed for it, and that goes for everyone else here as well. Not to mention the complete lack of responses from anyone from Crytek.
Guys, I'm from Brazil and I am having the same problem ... Talking with some friends, came to Ipotesi be the supplier of internet, did a test here in the same network with two servise from the net, "X"and "Y ". Company X is not loving the game login, and the company entered Y normal. Several people are claiming this, is it true? What do you think?
I had the same problem but was able to fix it updating my routers firmware (D-Link DIR 615) to the DD-WRT firmware. Ever since then I have been able to play without a problem.
HI-YO! Micky Cantor here, bumping this thread and reminding you that you should patch your game! Your original fan base is having problems playing the game that you dedicated towards a new market of income, and they aren't happy! I haven't seen threads this bad since the last time your mom came over! HI-YO!
tried the fix above but it doesnt work. Thats only if you cant create a login for gamespy. Nothing left for me to do but wait for them to actually make a patch that makes their multiplayer playable.
Why is this not even in the "stickied fix thread"? They even updated it today(march 31) and this hasn't made the list... rediculous. Thousands of people can't play MP because of this, and due to it not even being mentioned in that thread of "known issues" I fear its not a priority on their minds. Which is crazy since its been an issue since the demo.
