"Please Check Network Connectivity" - Log in problem

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:32 pm

I have just finished downloading Cryisis 2 off of steam but I cant start it up. The first time setup thing will open but when it gets to step 3, I get "Connection failed. Please check your internet connection." My internet is running fine on everything! Is this a problem on EA's end or mine? Thanks

I have already done the sharing thing, the firewall, etc. Why can't I log in. As you can see I have internet so why do I need to check network connectivity?????????????????????

I have the same problem, I can't login. I am on the network at my Unviersity now, which leads me to believe that there is some incoming connection being blocked, which doesnt make sense. I can vouch that this is most likely what is occuring because when I connect to my brother's VPN off campus I can log in just fine. Crytek, I bought your game, I didn't pirate it, I want to play it now, thanks. Could someone please help.

Thanks a bunch :D

Same issue here...Really hoping for some kind of solution or at least a response as to what is going wrong.

EDIT: I'm also at a university, so that may indeed be a reason.

So what exactly is the incoming connection and can it please be removed in a patch or something? Those of us who dont have control over our ISP can't fix this issue.

I have really been looking forward to this game (I dont care about "oh it isnt as good looking" or anything) Crytek makes great games and athat is all I care about. Sure I'm angry about the fact that it is "console"y but whatever, I bought it I just wnat to play it.

demo 1.0 didnt work for me, but I was on break when 1.2 came out (1.0 had been working when I left campus) when I came back on campus 1.2 didn't work but I didnt know if the demo was over or not (then the VPN would log in but the server list would be empty).

I looked for a fix but the search results were so full of stuff from when the demo worked for no one I couldnt find anything.

I have the exact same problem, same error message. Windows firewall has an exception for crysis 2 so i dont know whats up. Hopefully this gets fixed with the rest of the issues people were having.

I was able to play the demo just fine. So I find it odd that I can't play the full game. It pisses me off that I can't find any fix for this. They had better fix it soon, those Koreans are probably getting tired of me running them over in boredom.
