"Please Check Network Connectivity" - Log in problem

Post » Wed Jun 22, 2011 4:24 am

Mine started working after I enabled the "Windows Connect Now - Config Registrar" using msconfig.exe

I also installed the latest version of Comrade and enabled some diagnostic services, but I think the Connect service did it.

Turning that service on didn't work for me.

My war with "internet connection" continues....
I swithc off brandmauer, delete Microsoft Security Essentianls, result = 0, tryed Hotspot Shield result = 0, a lot of times turn off and then restart my router zyxel pp330ee result = 0, tried in router DMZ function (sometimes work) tred Virtual servises and open ports 64100 in force mode, result = 0, a lot of times restart my PC restart = 0.....but sometimes when I turn my pc I don't have any problem, and then again "network conncetion". I don't know what crytek doing with this game because I can normal play WITHOUT any problem with all online games on the PC like: Stalker CS, stalker cop, crysis wars, far cry 2, F1 2010, and have ZERO problem with any of this game...it's just ridicuolus with CRYSIS 2:(

Ok, for the 30 time, let me explain some stuffs.

1- Check if is your ISP problem: by access or ping to the site login.gamespy.com if you can access this page your ISP is fine.

2- Check your firewall and antivirus (obvious)

3- Open the ports!

4- Disable sharing connections

5- Use HotSpot Shield.

If nothing working, you're DOOMED! And now I'll rage, since they don't give a **** for us ( EA, Crytek, Gamespy ) : F U C K Y O U! Better now...

UUUh, I solved the problem. I was watching "The Griffins", when i went to my PC and i saw my antivirus. I saw that it blocking communications in Crysis2.exe. I think that if you have an antivirus or another problem that disable the "dangerous communications", you just have to disable it. I hope you enjoy.
PS: Sorry for my bad english, but i'm italian.
Did you try it?

My works that way, but unfortunately I do not know the exact reason that occurred
: (. installed the patch and could connect to the game.
The only thing I did was in the windows firewall and created a new port and configured to open all doors

Cry-Someone, I know you don't even care about this issue, BUT if there's someone from Crytek reading this right now, just answer this simple question:

IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE MULTIPLAYER, THE ACCOUNT IS LOGGED ON LOGIN.GAMESPY.COM OR THERE IS ANOTHER WAY OF AUTHENTICATION?

Still can't log in. Opened ports, disabled anti-virus, disabled fire-wall, and still can't log-in...

Lesson for the future? Never buy a faulty product especially if it's a console port... Now where are those torrents...

I'll be sending this to the support right away but I also want to share this with the community.

A friend of mine has this problem and we've done several tests. It turned out, that the problem is a service running on server 69.10.30.243 on port 6667. When you click Login in the game, this is one of the servers that it tries to connect to. Wireshark revealed that the main point of the communication with this service is sending
Code:
CRYPT des 1 capricorn
(where "capricorn" seems to be the codename of the game or something like that since I'm pretty sure I've seen it in some other packets also) and receiving some encrypted text (it's different every time, so it's probably not only the word "capricorn" being encrypted).

You can check how it works by running
Code:
telnet 69.10.30.243 6667
and then entering the text mentioned above. You won't be seeing what you type, but after typing it and pressing Enter you should receive something like that:
Image

However, if you're the one that suffers from this error, you should be able only to ping this server and not to connect to it via telnet on the specified port.

I'm still looking for the solution and I hope that the community will help. And maybe this will allow Crytek to fix this problem entirely.

HotSpot Shield unfortunately doesn't solve the issue. I've described the source of the problem here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=21010

When on the HotSpot Shield, you are able to connect to the server specified in the mentioned topic, but it almost immediately ends the communication. What I believe that happens, is that this server provides encryption key for your password. When you cannot connect to it at all, you get the "network connectivity" error. When you are able to connect to it but the connection is immediately broken, the game probably interprets some random data to use as an encryption key and when your password is compared with the one in the database, they are different because of the wrong encryption key the game used and hence the error about login details.

Xylem, with the HotSpot Shield I guess he only change the route, as example, in order to login into login.gamespy.com in normal ways ( without the software ) to reach the destination is done 17 jumps to reach the login server. For me, I was not even able to run across the 14 jump, imo is my ISP problem causing this issue. With Hotspot I was able to reach, but gives me the login error ( username ), so you are probably right about the encryption... well, lets pray for some solution.

It should be a firewall problem. The only thing we can try is to disable TOTALLY our Antivirus Protection when we're playing the game. I'll try this. Anyway I'll install the game on another PC to see if it's a firewall problem. If not I'll try a fix for login, which says to create a new account, but with our actual login datas. See you soon.

Xylem, another question. Even using gamesas account, we access the login.gamespy.com? If we do, we should be able to loggin into gamespy/comrade or whatever with gamesas account, am I right?
