Please Crytek don't make Crysis 3 a dumbed down console port

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 3:49 am

Crysis 2 was great....but frankly It was a console port, which ruined it.

Please do not make the same mistake with Crysis 3.

Articulate your post better, and people may be more willing to take on your views.

Crysis 2 was bad, but it wasn't really a console port. It wasn't console code ported over to work on the PC platform. What it was, is limited from day 1 on the PC, by the hardware limitations of consoles. In response to which, I suggest that you are dreaming if you think Crysis 3 will be any different.

What is even more baffling is that it was limited by "hardware limitations" instead of "power limitations".

When you think about the consequences of this very real difference, you will sh*t bricks. What's that? Did anyone say "No prone"? "No lean"? "Streamlined suit modes"? "Forwards-only sprint"?

EDIT: The Crysis console port alone proves that the prevalence of controllers in shooters is a far more excruciatingly painful cancer than less computing power.

Please remember that the majority of the profit made on Crysis 2 came from the consoles unlike a very large amount of PC users who pirated the game you really expect Crytek to bend down for you when there is not decent money to be made?

Insania, I suggest you visit Techdirt, Torrentfreak and, in general, pro-copyright reform sites in order to realize the mind-boggling fallacy that lies at the heart of your argument.

Rockpapershotgun users would also facepalm greatly.

EDIT: BTW, Crysis (the first) sold like hotcakes on PC.

EDIT 2: Also, source? How can you claim it didn't sell well on PC? Where's the proof?

The PC side did sell well yes but due to the nature of when PC games are released there is going to be mass pirating you brought this upon yourselves check back Crysis 2 was the most pirated game of the year for the PC. Also the majority of the profit to be made at this point in time points firmly towards the consoles so yea all this consoles ruined Crysis nonsense is getting rather boring if you want it to change reach into your pockets and pay in cash for the game and do not pirate, this is not you of course but is directed at those who intend or have pirated the game.

I will always buy my games, but I am thinking twice about buying games which are console ports.

So if crytek dont want Pc users to pirate their game, they should tell us upfront that its not going to be a disappointment on PC.

Even the gameplay on Crysis 2 was dumbed down for consolers.

-edit-
Did Crysis 2 ever get patched to Pc standards? I know it had the Dx11 patch and ultra texture pack, and a few other patches...did those make any difference? I kinda gave up on the game halfway through.

Brought the game to good graphics. Slightly inferior, perhaps even equal to Crysis, but still one of the best looking games on PC.

However, gameplay remained consolized sh*t and the storytelling remained vomit-inducing. Waste of 34€.
