Please Crytek make a Lingshan Island DLC!

Post » Sat Oct 16, 2010 3:54 pm

I don't care if it would break the canon (since Lingshan is presumably a frozen over crater now) or disregard the timeline, all I ask is that you make a big ass jungle sandbox map of Lingshan and stuff it full of those lovable North Koreans, add coop, and sell it as DLC!

I would prefer a regular addon over one of those hundreds of overpriced half-assed "DLC"

Crytek said they won't do a tropical game anymore because they got tired of looking at palms.

Would have to be a PC-exclusive DLC in order to do it right. I want giant ass maps like C1, interaction with freaking everything, etc. No way console could run that.

Also, gotta play as NOMAD.

Just give a DLC with open maps and free gameplay. I'd be enough. I don't care if it'd be placed on my grandma's backyard or that Korean Island (cause for placing that in NYC I can't hope, knowing the current game outcome, though It'd be good if you'd manage to to this and recreate The Wall trailer climate).

Consoles won't handle that most likely, but at least PC players will have PROPER game.

**** PC.
PC players have a bich fit if they have to pay for DLC. If consoles got a couple more maps at least they'd make some money.

MMAMickey, bad company 2 vietnam sold like hot cakes on PC.

Most PC gamers don't mind DLC that's worth it. The reason why they kick up a fuss about map packs? because £12 for 5 maps is a complete rip off in all ways. Anyone who thinks otherwise seriously needs to take a heavy dose of steam sales.

Whoops, misread that lol.

As for "new to the series", go join almost any Crysis 1 / Wars server and it'll be running admin tools I helped develop. Try again.

Who cares what they want. They exist to serve us, their customers. They better do what we want or they won't get any money. Customer's always king!

I want big interactive topical island maps like in Crysis 1 and Warhead/Wars.

Maybe spend less time developing Admin. tools and more time knowing the difference between Psycho and Prophet?

*edit* Lingshan Island DLC better run on Warhead's engine, 'cause CryEngine 3 can't render foliage for ****.

What the hell ar you smoking? CE3 can't render foliage? Did you ever see the Lingshan CE3 youtube video demos?

The quality makes Crysis 1/Warhead with mods look like a pile of ****.

Actually, I just voted "yes" to this, but what I was really thinking is that it would be cool if a DLC explored what happened with Nomad, Psycho, Prophet after the first game and before the second game. When we see Prophet at the beginning of Crysis 2, it seems like he's been through a hell of a lot since Crysis 1.

My point: It wouldn't need to take place on Lingshan for me to be interested. I suppose Nomad and Psycho could have flown back to the island, picked up Prophet and gone to do more important stuff elsewhere.

If the DLC contained a 2-4 hour campaign with a good story to fill in missing areas, and some green maps, and some new weapons/modules, I'd gladly pay $15

Oh and higher res textures

This is the exact reason why the sandbox 3 editor is not going to be released. EA will not allow Crytek to destroy there DLC opportunities. They know that groups of dedicated users will create better content than anything that is rushed out the door by there own professional team.

In Crysis 1 you play as Nomad as you try to infiltrate the Lingshan Islands. Warhead see's you jump into the suit of psycho just after the events of Crysis 1.
