Please Don't Let The PS3 Owners Get The Second Hand Treatmen

Post » Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:09 pm

Sirs,
I don't know if you guys have been keeping track of the situation with Call of Duty: Black Ops. The PS3 owners are getting tired of the second hand treatment. Please ensure there is parity between the XBOX and PS3 versions. I'm sure that Black Ops is the LAST Treyarch title I'm ever going to get(there is no way I'm going to buy DLC either). It may be the last Activision title I ever purchase too. I'm just playing BO until Killzone 3 comes out. Please give us, the PS3 owners, the proper treatment we deserve. It's unfair that PS3 owners get relegated to a secondary position because of company politics and glad handing. The treatment that we get from Activision(PS3 owners get DLC later and gameplay is subpar compared to XBOX versions) is atrocious. Please don't let the money grubbing suits(like Bobby Kotick) dictate the way the PS3 version of Brink is to be handled. All we ask is for fair treatment.

It's not the first time a CoD/activision title gives ps3 owners the boot, yet ps3 owners keep buying the titles. Bet next year with the next CoD title out, everywhere people will be complaining bout glitches in the CoD game they bought again, saying it'll be the last CoD title they buy. Stop buying CoD titles, then they'll pay attention.

Not specifically complaining about CoD. I just use CoD as a notable example. The PS3 users are tired of getting **** on.

Well at least you get blue-ray. I thought that was the deal PS3 users made due with.

Luckily for you Brink is having a PS3 exclusive closed beta of Brink to work on the buggy PS3. Stupid buggy PS3.

True. Nowadays the PC is always let down.

After all, PS3-players have nice exclusives like Uncharted and Killzone. What does the PC have? The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_game-franchise which has always been a bugfest and the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_%28series%29-franchise which is a addon-fest ... great.

Most of Blizzard's games are exclusive to PC and Mac, and there are still many developers out there who emphasize PC support even if their games are cross-platform.

Oh, true. I forgot about Blizzard, because I don't care about their games very much.

Starcraft is prolly a good example for a PC exclusive. However, the first Starcraft was released before the dawn of consoles, if I'm not mistaken.

Starcraft was released in 1998, so several years before the XBox or PS2. There actually was a Nintendo port (for the N64 I believe) but I don't know anything about it.

Starcraft 2 is a recent release and I don't believe anything has been said about a potential console release. Diablo 3 hasn't been released yet and while an eventual console port may be possible if they do this it will be after the initial PC/Mac release.

RTS games in general are PC exclusives, something about selecting armies with anologs seems like a pain in the ass.

Mmorpg's,there are lots of titles exclusive for pc, GW and coming GW2 ,WOW.
But my guess is that FPS games will more and more be consoleminded as in the PC will get ports of these games which leads to less people buying them.
Dont forget who's the big player behind Xbox.
They have the power and the money to get the dev's making the games for Xbox.

But again, MMOs being limited to PC is mostly due to hardware. MMO games need large dedicated servers. Microsoft and Sony make it very difficult to run console games off of one. In addition to that, the majority of MMO games require you to pay each month, in response to the cost of keeping those servers running, which on a console would mean paying for both the game and XBL or PSN each month.

This is very different from console exclusive games, which mostly occur due to marketing or legal issues. Having a game exclusive to a console means that people are more likely to buy the console if they like the game. So Microsoft and Sony do their best to prevent Devs from making games for the other platforms.

Yes. You guys have a lot to deal with. But PS3 gets DLC late and it's widely known how the CEO of Activsion has battled with Sony. PS3 is the bastard stepchild of the family.

I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to Brink. But then again, I doubt that microsoft will bribe Bestheda. Or, I and I'm sure many others, will basically just sigh and move on.

After I get Brink, I won't need COD. Ever. Unless they decide to get the message.

Man... I am tired of all the BS that is associated with the gaming industry now. I'm through with Activison for now. I don't know how MW3 will be with IW in the state it is now.

With Brink, I really won't care. There is Brink, Crisis 2, Homefront, Rage, Battlefield....and that's just shooters, and FPS at that. Uncharted 3 and infamous 2. There are many more games besides COD.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to Brink, Killzone 3, Battlefield and DC Universe Online, Rage and the Tomb Raider reboot.

Haven't heard too much about Crysis 2.

*Forgot about Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Deus Ex: Human Revolutoin.

At least you get the games straight away and don't have to wait 4-6 months before you may buy them for your system (PC); without getting a proper version, but just a piece of console-port-garbage, that usually is.

I feel sorry for you guys that buy consoles for hundreds of dollars, just to have the privilege of paying more to run multi-platform games on 5-year-old hardware. To fix that, use all the money you would've spent on consoles to get a decent PC.

Lets not forget the $50 a year Xbox users pay to connect their 5-year old hardware to the internet, through their own connection.
