Please Explain this..

I have a question for the people in this forum who know more about DLC's and patches than I do. What I want to know is not even a crisis or anything, it has just been bugging me all day..

I bought LE last night, installed it along with all the DLC's. After I installed it I looked in my memory, I just do that a lot, and saw everything there as it should be but did not see the 26mb title update. Well, that made sense to me because I just figured it was probably included with the DLC's.

I started playing the game and saw that I had the Legendary difficulty setting so I knew it was there.

I played for about 3 hours last night. This morning I realized that I had changed my mind about the race and overall direction of the character I had created the night before. So I logged on before I went to work and deleted that character, cleared game/system cache (I always do that in between deleting a character and starting a new one) and then logged on game to make new character.

That was when I was prompted to install an update, and it turned out to be the 26mb title update that I can now see in my memory (1.9). This confuses me and let me tell you why...

1. I thought that the full 1.9 patch was included with LE which I remember being 26mb in size. Clearing game/system cache on Xbox would only delete files that are 8mb or smaller. Why is the 1.9 that came with the LE only 8mb or smaller, was it just compressed?

2. If it was suppose to happen when playing the game for the first time after installing it, why did it not happen last night?

3. Could it be that the 1.9 that came with the Legendary Edition is a little different than the original release, therefore maybe better, and I just lost it? doubtful I know..

I just want to know how or why this happened. 1.9 should not be getting deleted when clearing the game cache but obviously I deleted something that prompted a re-install of the patch.. which is now in my memory as the 26mb title update.. It was not there last night after just installing the LE with all DLC's..

Like I said, this is not a big deal, it is just bugging me and I want to know what the hell happened here. I don't want to hear about, down the road, that Bethesda released a smaller, more stable version of 1.9 with LE and I had just lost it.. Although, if that were the case it would be strange because then you could never clear the game cache...

I am sure it probably has to do with the file being compressed but I just want to be sure.

Thanks.

That patch probably did get deleted when you cleared the cache. With Fallout 3 GOTY, clearing the XBox cache wiped out a patch that was required to play any of the DLCs, and you'd have to reinstall either the DLCs or the main game (it's been so long since I played on the XBox that I forget). So it's not like this is the first time such a thing has happened.

If Bethesda does release another patch to fix 1.9 issues (sadly, that's very unlikely; what you get with the LE is probably going to be it), then that patch will be made available on XBox Live for download.

Yeah, I have FO3 on Xbox. That patch for FO3 is only 3mb in size which is why it gets deleted when clearing cache and you just get prompted to install it again when you start up the game. The 1.9 patch that apparently got deleted when I cleared my cache this morning is 26mb in size and because of its size it should have not gotten deleted. It would never get deleted when I cleared the cache while playing the original version of Skyrim, I know because I used to clear my cache all the time.

I just don't understand what exactly got deleted in the LE that then prompted me to reinstall 1.9. The only explanation that makes any sense to me is that the 1.9 patch that came off the LE addon disc was maybe compressed...

It is just bugging me.. lol

Maybe it's bugging me because last night I was actually excited that I could not see the 26mb title update file in my Xbox memory.. That file gave me a lot of problems towards the end, before I decided to take my little break from Skyrim a few months back. Now.. its back

Honestly, I don't even know why I made a thread about it because it is not even a big deal, lol. I just really want someone to explain this... I do have a bit of an OCD when it comes to stuff like this, seriously. Been dwelling on it all day at work if that tells you anything... and it will eventually drive me insane, lol.
