Whe need to know that the only output devices we have are the monitor and the sound system.
The blood on screen is the only way to transmit the sensation, we have limeted tools.

I play console and I hope it can at least be turned off.
It will become annoying really fast, it has no use and there is no need for it, its gimmicky.

I'm all for blood, decapitation, and dismemberment but I agree with the op; having blobs of blood splashed onto my computer screen makes me feel like my character is fighting from behind a clear plastic visor on his helmet. I won't be using this feature. It did make me think immediately of COD as well. Not good.
