Please get rid of the blood on the screen.

Post » Sun Jun 12, 2011 6:18 pm

Its stupid and unrealistic. I have my health bar to tell me how much health I have, thanks. Its just annoying and unnecessary.
I can mod this out but for the sake of the console users, do it for them. I don't often fight dragons, but I really cant see blood spatters getting in my eyes, that would be solved with a blink anyway.

Unrealistic? I'm pretty sure if you slash someones throat in real life, blood will go everywhere.

It's just a decal, if you are on PC - it can be easily replaced or removed altogether.

If you are on a console, well... Either don't play or stop being afraid of blood, no other way around it.

I know I can mod it out, but as I said, console users can't. I find it hard to believe that I'm the only person who is annoyed by the blood... Its not gonna stop people from playing obviously, but if you get splatter of blood on your eyes, its going to make you almost completely blind until you blink. No blood screen is better :] Think about how small your pupil is.

But blood on the screen is more realistic than a health bar

Yeah, if by "blood" you mean strawberry jam and by "everywhere" you mean on the camera lens our hero is apparently watching through.

I know tamriel isn't a real world but I'm pretty sure people don't see with camera lenses. They see with 1cm squared pupils.

The console users dont automatically share your opinion... I want it to stay thanks.

Do you walk around with a health bar and magicka gauge floating in front of your face. I think you need to put you realism ideas into perspective... The blood on the screen is not totally intended to represent blood in your eyes, it is to create an illusion of imersion. Making you feel you are part of a battle and the environment is effecting you as the player..

I've got nothing against it, it's pretty neat and better than a health bar, and SO REAL!

The way that beth has implement the blood on screen is perfect, it's not a bucket of sauce like many fps games but ist only some randoms drops on screen. I think that it can grow the immersion

No.

Bethesda, keep it. It's fine as it is.

I would like blood on the screen as an option on/off :)

Yeah, I hate blood splashes on the screen - and, even worse, rain splashes on the screen. If I go out in the rain I don't get water drops running down my eyeballs, I just blink.

I think instead of making it a 'do or dont' decion we just put in the option to toggle it in the start menu

It looks odd, unrealistic, annoying and ruins the immersion. Why are you forcing me to look through a pane of glass? I am not wearing a bikers helmet or sat in the front seat of a car thank you. At least give me an option to permanently turn it OFF or provide me with a magical windscreen wiper spell please.

I doubt that it won't have an option to turn it off.

I like it. Makes the battle feel more real in an unrealistic way, if that makes any sense :)

It's not about being afraid of blood...what a stupid thing to say. "Bloody screen" is actually a feature in some games that has recieved some criticism simply because not everyone is a fan of it.
