I understand I made this topic again last night but...please people I beg of you..give me some sort of clue as to why i cant START this [censored] quest...
i made a topic yesterday and i spent 5 minutes now trying to find it here on this section but to no avail...but even if u guys dont know how to solve this problem at least.....tell me what u would think or do just to u know...solve it?
the quest at hand is the ghost of old hroldan
I CANT trigger it!
i went to old hroldan spoke to the inn keeper, rent tiber septim's room, slept in for a few hours ( night time and day time tested both) and nothing happens!
the inn keeper is supposed to scream and notice us that a old ghost from the battle of old hroldan was in there, and if u talk to him he tells u that he wants his sword back from hjalti ( a former name to tiber septim himself )
but that event never occurs bcuz the inn keeper never screams and the ghost never spawns!
what can i do guys? u gotta help me here...i tried everything!!!!!!
i thought it was because i wasnt well rested bcuz i was a werewolf and i had the lover stone as my activated stone
i completed the companions questline to get rid of my werewolf desease by burning the witch heads
i also activated a different stone to get off my lover's stone blessing
now when i sleep anywhere, i am well rested so i tried to sleep on old hroldan inn and guess what? NOTHING YET!
what am i doing wrong?
i currently dont have the hjalti sword in my possession, even if i did it would still work, but i dont and it is also not required to have it, since the start is to originally ask of u to go fetch it after u meet the ghost of old hroldan.
i know this was a long text for just a simple pledge of rescue in this mission, but i feel really bad when i know i cant complete a quest, no matter how stupid that quest may be.

I dont know why the quest will not start.
It doesnt sound like youre doing anything wrong.
Normally Id say reload a previous save, but it sounds like youve had the issue some time and I doubt youll have any saves from before you noticed this.

Probably your best bet is to give up on this quest on this character and experience it on your next one.
Or you might get very lucky and find the sword in a boss chest, the location of which will be random.

secondly spoilers? GUYS it's a freaking misschelaneous quest K? how is that so important to u to notice as spoilers? seriously give me a break, i had to basically run down the whole story of the quest to further explain what i am doing right or wrong in ur eyes

Anyways a moderator can close this now, i figured it out on my own. But seriously, im still wondering why people can give a crap about spoilers when it's a tiny little mission. I basically gave a little bit of a old knowledge of lore from TES and immidiatly ppl jump on my back
