Please help me identify my problem

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 8:53 am

i5 2500 @3.30ghz (nonOC)
x2 GSKILL Ripjaws 4gb DDR3
MSI GTX670 PE (OC)

I recently got my new card and was hoping I'd actually be able to play this, but even with settings turned down, and my resolution turned down significantly, I'm still getting horrid FPS.

Is my CPU the problem? Or is my 670 still just not strong enough for this game?

what kind of fps are you getting, also what resolutions have you tried and what settings? Do you have the latest nvidia drivers? With that setup you should be able to get pretty decent frames on medium/high settings

My FPS were at a pretty constant low 20's

Something that has actually seemed to make a large difference was rolling back my driver. As for resolutions, I've taken it all the way down to 1300 I think it was.

Settings currently are:
AF: 4x
AA: none
Effects: Very High
Object: Medium
Particles: Very High
PP: High
Shading: Low
Shadows: Medium
TexRes: Very High
Water: High

low 20's sounds way too low. Try turning particles/Effects to high/medium. and do a clean install of the latest drivers

Should I even use the latest drivers? Rolling back seemed to do the trick. I'm getting a fairly stable framerate now even with 1920

Well if you're happy with with your performance, personally i'd just leave it how it is. Happy bow hunting :)

Thanks for the quick responses!

Oh also, is my CPU causing any bottlenecking?

You know, I have wanted to OC my CPU, but I honestly have no clue how. It seems quite a bit more complicated than OC'ing a GPU
